cornfedksboy
I haven't heard the KLF line, but based on specs, I'd guess that the 10 is quite similar to the 82 ib performance where as the 20 is closer to the RF-7. Remember that the 20/30 lines are three way speakers while the 10 and all Reference speakers are two way.
elitedemo
I think the 82s/62 would be an upgrade but not enough to justify, if it were me I would probably add amp(s) first then a good sub to your existing system, youll probably want amp(s) for anything better than 82s to fully utilize your current and future speakers anyway so you may as well have the groundwork laid out
CHASLS2
I went from FS3's to RF82's and it was a big jump, then went to some RF63's and it was another big jump from the RF82's. Then went from the RF63's to the RF7's. not as much as a jump going from the RF63's. The RF7's will really beat out the RF82's.
Moderators Youthman Posted November 21, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 21, 2011 Do did you get to demo the RF-7's today?

Moderators Youthman Posted November 21, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 21, 2011 Great. Let us know what you think of them.
jordan122345
I most definitley will let you know what I think. i am hoping for good things. As far as that goes I think the Integra dtr7.9 i have is 130 x 7 so will that be enough for RF7's.Also I think if the RF7's fall through(I hope not)I will go with the RF82ii setup and sell the free sw310 sub that comes in it and get 2 of the RW-12D subs from newegg. jordan122345
so which rf7 is this or is it a rf7 at all
jordan122345
so this is one of the 2 pictures he sent me.Just trying to figure out whether they are RF7 classics or RF7 regular
cornfedksboy
I believe those are RF-7s in the cherry veneer. The Classics are a REALLY deep red color...very similar to the WF-35s in cabernet only probably a little darker still.
jordan122345
the weird thing is the 2 pictures are of the same set of speakers.I am not sure what is going on because it looks like the 2 have different grill cover holes and the one has a crease or something that looks like a crease for the grill??? jordan122345
this is another picture of the first one.Notice that there is no indentation for where the grill meets or am I nuts. Or is it supposed to be like that.Am I just completely nuts or what
Fish
Those are 1st.Gen 7,s in cherry. The woofer caps look dented in, big value drop. There is no indentation in 7's' the grill plugs in the holes and leaves about 3/8 inch away from the cab.I have only seen dark colored 7's once, those are standard cherry color that matches center/subs from the 7's line.I think cornfed may be thinking about a special order pair I saw in Mohogany once. Is that a plant on top of one? that would not be good. And they have no feet leaving the bottom exposed to damage. Last, up against that wall like that they must have sounded pretty bad, they need 36 inches from front baffle to wall.
JasonJCarney
I would call Klipsch and get a replacment cost on those 2 dented woofers. Take like 75% of that cost off the top of your offer. Whatever that offer is. The woofers are surprisingly reasonably priced. I have called klipsch twice for quotes on woofer replacements. Moderators Youthman Posted November 22, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 22, 2011 The first photo looks like it is in very good condition. Hopefully the plant on top is fake. If it is real, there could be a possibility of water damage on the top of the cabinet due to the pot leaking. Does he have the speaker grills? If so, ask him to check to see if any of the grill pegs on the grill are broken (very common for RF-7's). Just some things to consider to help with negotiating a good price. cornfedksboy
I think cornfed may be thinking about a special order pair I saw in Mohogany once. See this VERY dark cherry: http://www.klipsch.com/klipsch-classic-rf-7-floorstanding-speaker The speakers listed in this thread definately aren't the RF-7 Classic as the front of the Classic is also finished in wood veneer like the RF-7 II. jordan122345
So the guy was originally asking $850 for them and said he would take only $50 off for the dents in the cones on the one speaker. So what should I be offering him because of the dents in the cones. CHASLS2
Those are just like my Cherry RF7's. They are the first run of RF7's.
jordan122345
SO the dents in the cones won't actually affect any performance right just visual and then resale later on of course.Which I wouldnt sell them if I get them anyways. So value with the dented cones on the one speaker would be??? Survey Says
CHASLS2
It would run around $160 to replace each driver. I had a another set of RF7's with dented centers and nothing i tried would pull the dents out. Here is my cherry RF7.
