CECAA850
This forum member hasn't been on for a while but you should be able to e-mail him from his profile page. I purchased some of these stands as well as several other members. I'd have no problem buying from him again. Stands are brand new and he had a slew of them. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/155710/1642745.aspx#1642745 I think he another style also. Scrappydue
Single screw in a stud works like a champ. And much cheaper too.
Moderators Youthman Posted June 19, 2013 Moderators Share Posted June 19, 2013 You don't even have to have a stud if you can't mount it in one. I'm using heavy duty drywall anchors for my RS-62's. No problem supporting it.

swapface
Yep, did the same here as you did Youth. I believe the heavy duty drywall anchors are rated to 50 - 75lbs. Very sturdy and gives you more placement options that trying to mount on studs.
Moderators Youthman Posted June 20, 2013 Moderators Share Posted June 20, 2013 Why the surprise? If I'm using an anchor that can support over twice the weight of the RS-62, why not? There wasn't a stud where I needed to place my RS-62.
CECAA850
The anchor is rated for it, what's your sheetrock rated for? If it works for you, great. I'd never hang anything of value off of one, but that's just me.
CECAA850
After looking at the RS-62's, it appears that your anchor is used more for sheer than pull out. A hollow wall anchor should work but I'd still be leery. RS-7's (that I'm accustomed to) need an anchor more resistant to pullout as a lot of the weight is away from the wall. I'd never use an anchor with these.
CECAA850
Another thing to consider is how much sheetrock vibration you have at the hanging speaker from your sub. Molly bolt (expands in the wall cavity) type anchors would work better than the plastic sheet rock inserts if you have a lot of wall vibration. swapface
Very good point sub placement definately comes in to play.
Heritage_Head
I would use a stud if you can. Sheetrock can be tricky from spot to spot (in some areas it might hold 100lbs but in others not so much). If i had no other choice i would do like youth did but that would be imo last resort.
Macromicroman
VTI makes a couple of different stands that are 36 inches tall. I use them for my RS-52ii and they work fine.
derrickdj1
I guess I am the lonewolf and like my surrounds high near the ceiling and near a corner. I know it is not the ideal placement but it works very well. Since it is 1/8 space it reinforces the bass and the surrounds play larger and have lower extension than they normally would. My mother alway said I was different. If she said shut up, I would talk, for sit I would stand and, walk meant run, lol.
