Islander
I hope he gets back to you. Those speakers look great. If they were in my neighbourhood, I'd be after them myself, in spite of having a pair already.
opusk2k9
If you like original La Scalas, you'll really like La Scala IIs. How do you compare the La Scala II sound to the orginal La Scala? I have the orginal, but haven't heard the La Scala II.
SonicSeeker
me too, don't know what the deal is, sent another email today.
Islander
If you like original La Scalas, you'll really like La Scala IIs. How do you compare the La Scala II sound to the orginal La Scala? I have the orginal, but haven't heard the La Scala II. The bass goes a bit deeper and is much more full-sounding. I'm not using the LS2 tweeters and squawkers in my setup, so I only heard them when doing the test listen in the previous owner's home. That part sounded a bit better than the originals, but the unfamiliar surroundings made it difficult to make a comparison with the earlier models in my home. The overall effect for me was that I was hearing better and more expensive speakers. The much improved style and build quality reinforce that impression. Islander
me too, don't know what the deal is, sent another email today. There's a 10-digit number in the ad. Could that be a phone number? Is 406 an area code for anywhere near there? Just a thought. Maybe the emails aren't getting through for some reason.
opusk2k9
The number is the CL posting ID. Area code 406 is in Montana. Thanks for the info on the LS II comparison. I really enjoy the original LS. The new ones look great.

etc6849
Schu and others: what would be a fair offer on these? I don't have a lot extra cash, but I've heard great things about the La Scala II's. I haven't heard them in person before, but I love the sound of my RF-83's. opusk2k9
I did hear back from the CL poster (Danny) and sent him "Henry Browning 63" info, since he was the first here after me to express interest. I would like them, but would have to sell some stuff. Also, I certainly don't need them, but they are pretty, my precious. I did get some additional info from him: Unfortunately, I have the speakers packed away making it difficult to pull them out to take pictures. I will say that the tops are in excellent shape with no obvious nicks or other imperfections. If you end up getting them you are, of course, welcome to check them out before you take them but I assure you they are like new cosmetically. I forgot to also add that you are correct in that the tops come off and have their own boxes so there are a total of four boxes for the two speakers. Hook up between the top and bottom speaker is a simple cable and is quite easy to do. I will have to check on the shipping. Do you have a particular shipper that you prefer? Since these are rather large boxes I'm not sure FedEx or UPS will ship them. We may need to use BAX or another shipper. Any thoughts on this?Small box is 15 hi 28 wide and 27D.Large box is 28 3/4 high by 28.5 wide and 27 deep
