mustang guy
The two videos went together perfectly. I wonder if that Frenchman sells any of those tubes. It would be cool to buy one just to display.
Gilbert
Super cool video. Based on appearance, I'm guessing that was a power tube, looked similar to a 6550 / KT88.
tube fanatic
I wonder if that Frenchman sells any of those tubes. It would be cool to buy one just to display. I'm trying to find out about that. I sent an email to a friend who is an expert on tubes/tube construction and knows all the tube gurus still living. Will post if he comes back with anything. My wife thinks I'm nuts because of all the time I spend on amp design and fabrication. I'll have to show her the video so she can see just how bad things could be!!! mustang guy
Anybody know French? I will write him a letter. Something like this: Dear Claude, You are a talented craftsman and there are many of us who are impressed by your skills and your passion to keep this dying art form alive. I would like to know if you would be willing to sell me one of your hand crafted valves so I can display it in a shadow box on my wall. If so, I have a friend who would like one as well. Respectfully, Craig Is there anyone fluent in French who could translate this? I know about Google translator, but we all know it is not 100% perfect. I want to get this right! Thanks in advance. The chances are he speaks, reads, and writes perfectly fluent English. As a ham operator, he's accustomed to using English which is the universal language of ham radio world wide. I'd simply send the letter in English. Maynard
