minermark
Iv looked all over this forum and found part(s) suppliers scattered throughout the site, have not seen any one place someone could find all the wild kinky electronic suppliers throughout the world, so I thought id throw in a parts supply forum. if this does already exist the Mods can just blow this away if they wish. Untill then I will throw in my two cents.

minermark
speaking of parts....this may not be new to most of you, but I have to say that I'm somewhat dismayed by the number of tear aparts and parting out of heritage speakers (and others) that I've seen on the bay and elsewhere. Does this seem to have become more noticeable recently, or? Yeah, I noticed in the last two years on the Bay, last week it seems like it was "Destroy Scala week" I think a lot of these parts are coming from guy's upgrading, and then finely getting around to selling off their old stuff. minermark
On the Bay parts shopping from china, pretty good supplys, i look for free or cheap shipping, most of the parts i collect are parts express quality @ 1/4 of the price. Just opened this package of stock items. I do not use these on klipsch, other projects, power supplys and bench projects. $1.65 ? w/free shipping ! you are not geeting that kind of deal from Parts Express. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dual-Female-Banana-Plug-Terminal-Binding-Post-for-Speaker-Amplifier/321513366620?_trksid=p3693.c100102.m2452&_trkparms=ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140212121249%26meid%3D7ff5300d70b741e38062205b5b7c2952%26pid%3D100102%26 Edited November 22, 2015 by minermark
The Dude
I ordered some transformers from Edcor earlier this week. It was a build to order product with approximately 6 week ship date, I ordered on Tuesday and received yesterday. Top notch service, https://www.edcorusa.com/pc_series

Davecv41
I got many of the parts for my 45 and 300B projects from Antique Electronics Supply in AZ www.tubesandmore.com
Tweaker256
I found this one while looking for bypass caps, http://www.sweetwater.com , Emerson Custom Paper in Oil Tone Capacitors, 0.01, 0.022 and 0.047uF. It's mostly a music store but the new US made POI caps are only $17.95 ea.
Davecv41
A Google search for Emerson Paper in Oil Capacitors turned up a link on a Fender Stratocaster forum I found interesting. I'd imagine guitar players are critical listeners with their instruments similiar to the way we are with our speakers. Here they compare capacitor types: Capacitor: Orange drop vs Paper in oil | Fender Stratocaster ...
Deang
Because of where the cap is located in the circuit - it doesn't surprise me that there isn't much, if any difference. Also, keep in mind that electric guitars have a somewhat limited range when compared to our systems. http://www.guitarrepairbench.com/guitar_info/guitar_capacitor.html
Davecv41
Limited range maybe, but some are just as passionate about their sound and components. A luthier friend of mine searches for vintage parts when building a copy of a particular musician's guitar, even going to the point of getting vintage wire between pickup, tone controls, and jack. You should have seen the look he shot me when I suggested he consider recapping a vintage amp in the interest of its longevity.
