rad500cad
I saw this at a yard sale for $50 all in working condition, I checked it out for about a 1/2 hour. It has a big fold out sheet of schematics and owners manual with it. http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/grundig_ks_650_u_ks650u_console.html When I read the specs 7 watts out per side I thought it should work ok with Klipsch speakers. On the back it has the din plugs for external speakers. Now I don't know if this design of amp (what ever it is, push pull?) would be worth all the trouble of setting it up as a stand alone stereo. This receiver is also sold as the stereomeister 300. Any thoughts. Thanks, Ben.
tk49
Certainly worth $
Sprags
My father had a Grundig console stereo. Not quite like that model but close. I remember the center and one side hinged tops had to be opened to access the amp, tuner and turntable. The other had storage for LP's. Marvel
Is it available close to me? I would get it. Even if it ends up being discarded, but I think not. Depending on the Klipsch you are planning to use it with. You can change the DIN connectors for something more friendly. Bruce

Dr Morbius
That is one cool looking unit, Grundigs, if I am correct were high quality tube amps and radio manufacturers. Saw I believe that same model on flea bay sell for $3200 or so about 4 years ago.
tube fanatic
Yes, the output stage is push-pull. For $50 I'd certainly buy it, but keep in mind that these units, being printed circuit board based, are a real pain to restore. I don't know of many techs who would want the bother of tackling a complete restoration of such a unit, and those who are willing would probably charge a great deal as the process is very time consuming. Even repairing them was quite a nuisance back in the day! Maynard
