peshewah
I have rf 62 and rc62 with a mid level yamaha 663. I blew a tweeter in my center channel. I was told by the repair guy that I needed more clean power. So I bought a emotiva xpa 3 and I thought it sounded better but thats just me. No more problems with tweeters. But if I had to do it again I would get a xpa5 so later down the line I could get a pre amp.
swa99a
Thanks man, So you blew a tweeter because you did not have enough power?
peshewah
Yes. I hope someone who knows more about it will chime in. I don't want to confuse you or give you wrong info
Scrappydue
If you are running your avr high enough to introduce distortion yes you will blow a tweeter. I know for a fact that I have ran my denon 1713 with two rf-62 rc-62 two rs-52 at reference levels for a lot of demos and never had a problem.
