Gorm
SOLD. This is one of my two RC-7s that were used as my rear surround speakers for a long time. Overall it is in good shape. There is a scuff mark on the top and left side of the speaker. The cones are in good shape, no bends or creases that I can see. The grill is nearly brand new as I never used it, all pegs in tact. The crossover has been modified by DeanG. This is the infamous "DeanG" mod for RF-7 and RC-7s. I will include the crossover if it sells to a fourm member. If it sells on Craigslist, then I will put an OEM crossover into it. There are two minor security screw marks where the bottom of the speaker was mounted. These holes do not penitate the internal cavity. Looking for SOLD Thank you. Edited September 8, 2014 by Gorm

Moderators Youthman Posted August 25, 2014 Moderators Share Posted August 25, 2014 Too bad no one accepts payment plans. lol It's happened around here...but typically between good friends. I've always loved the RC-7. Fantastic speaker. DeanG upgrade makes this a really sweet deal.
The History Kid
I've not yet ventured into the world of speaker mods, but from what I've read - they're killer updates. That's what makes me even more sad. lol
Moderators Youthman Posted August 25, 2014 Moderators Share Posted August 25, 2014 The RF-7 / RC-7 are a bit on the "harsh" side. When you really crank them, they tend to become shrill and difficult on the ears. The DeanG Crossovers help "Tame the Horn" as well as refine the sound. MichaelandKlipsch
I liked the sound of the dean g modified rf7iis. That's for sure.
Gorm
Too bad no one accepts payment plans. lol GLWS How much do you have to spend? I have another RC-7, but its not in near as good of shape. While it plays fine, there is some water damage to the cabinet, and both woofers have crinkles. Grill is in excellent shape though. I'd be willing to part with it super cheap. Wasn't planning on selling it here because it would never sell...probably needs to be parted out. Let me know if you are interested though... Gorm
Just so that we are clear, I really don't want to ship the speaker. However, if you do want to pay for shipping, I won't mind taking it down to the UPS store and letting them package it for transport. However, this is going to be very expensive... Thanks, Edited August 26, 2014 by Gorm
The History Kid
Until I work out my finances for October, nothing. As for shipping...I'd estimate between $55 to $75. Yikes.
derrickdj1
A little black shoe polish will take care of the scratch on the top and make it look almost perfect.

The History Kid
We might talk then. With me being unable to get back to school this year a good project would be good to keep me out of trouble.
Moderators Youthman Posted August 26, 2014 Moderators Share Posted August 26, 2014 I would avoid shipping the RC-7 if at all possible. It just doesn't do well with shipping due to the plastic basket securing the magnet to the woofer.

That and properly boxing and wrapping is just probably absurd
Moderators Youthman Posted August 27, 2014 Moderators Share Posted August 27, 2014 Even proper packing won't keep the xover or magnet on the woofers from breaking off.

Good to know - when I shipped the RB-5s to Gorm they did the bubble wrap / boxing method which was super pricey but seems they made it safe and sound
