teknoid
One evening this next week my 2 granddaughters ages almost 3 and 16 months are going to be in the same room as my recently rebuilt Heresys. I plan to build grills for them at some point in the future but that isn't going to happen before their visit. I have visions of both woofer dustcaps being pushed in before their visit ends. Any ideas on something quick, easy and cheap that I can do to preserve the currently pristine condition of the dustcaps short of removing the speakers from the room? mustang guy
The simplest thing would be to put them up high. otherwise, if you're like me, you have other speakers in closets and on shelves. Just bring an old crappy pair out while they are there, and put the Heresy's away somewhere.
MookieStl
lay them face down. Muffles the sound but saves the driver. Restore them to upright upon the little darlings departure. They may still climb on them.
angusruler
I put the fear of god into my sons aboot messing with dad's stereo........worked out well for me. the only time it didn't, was when my then nephew thought my sony cassette deck needed to be fed M&M's! then it was up to my then brother in law to show him how to shop for a new sony cassette deck for his then uncle! I have kids playing around my Cornwalls and Heresies all the time - so far no problem , they are just not appealing to kids - IMHO - always leave the grilles on -
derrickdj1
I also have small kids in the man cave and they don't touch the speakers. They would like to the amp knobs and all the pretty light on the different gear. None of the subs have grills. willland
Jeff, Go buy two rolls of this and wrap it around each speaker. It is 21 inches wide so it should cover each Heresy perfectly and you should get just shy of 4 rotations around each one. http://www.michaels.com/ribbon/mesh/809188401 Bill
Thaddeus Smith
I put the fear of god into my sons aboot messing with dad's stereo........worked out well for me. same here with my daughters, never an issue. it's visitors kids that used to make my heart stop. I currently run KP-201's with metal grills, so it's a non-issue and added bonus.

He was a little spastic though but I told him from almost day one, speakers, stereo, outlets, lamps, stove, etc., "hurt ow burn fire burn ow". As well, it was others' kids that had me on edge. Thaddeus Smith
my listening room is a different story.. cornwalls with squawkers precariously extended out over the edge, tube gear near the floor.. all in near field.. and a spinning toddler that is an absolute klutz. she doesn't spend much time in there...
