Jim
I'm contemplating doing a custom veneer job on my forte II. Wanted to see if anyone else on here has done it and see any photos. I'm looking at about 10 different styles. Here are a few I'm considering. Potential speaker fabric is going to be black, or what's attached. Opinions........................
muel
I was going to show you one of the gold standards for refurbishing speakers here on the forum and was greatly disappointed to find the PICTURES ARE GONE from Marshall's $200 Cornwall saga rescue !!! https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/103896-200-cornwall-saga-rescuing-orphans/ A crime has been committed because a treasure is missing! Jim
I've seen a few with I think K-Horns,La Scalas, or the Belles. Those were extremely nice. Especially with the zebra wood. There's a few other burlwoods that I'm looking at, as well as some really over the top stuff that's incredibly expensive. I don't know that I want to spend $500.00 on a sheet of veneer though. muel
That was paper backed walnut from how woodworker.com. Sapele wood might be my favorite but I also love cherry with a clear finish.

Jim
Well after seeing all these wonderful projects, I am narrowing mine down to this. And for a practice run, I am redoing my KG 4.2's in Birch then possibly staining them a nice dark stain. Jim
Well this is what I decided on for the forte II. Most likely going to do a clear coat on them when done. Don't know if I want to do oil and have to keep oiling them. I may get a 2nd pair of covers and do them in the black, or a different retro color from the 50's.

AllenTacey
Please I have done a lot of veneer work on expensive boats so do not use clear coat use an expensive fine oil. Clear coat will look like plastic wood?
