mungkiman
I believe Speakerlab used the Atlas PD4 midrange driver, rather than the Atlas PD5VH.
absolve2525
Thanks for the info. It's painted black, with spring terminals. It sounds really great! I will post a photo of the rear.

wvu80
I suggest you slap stickers on the side and double the price. They'll be gone by game day.
absolve2525
Haha awesome idea! ;-) You know this town too well. These are sounding damn good with new caps and Crites tweeters. Geeze, I may just have to store them if I don't get any quick bites. Edited October 29, 2015 by absolve2525

mungkiman
GLWS - My entry into corner horns was a pair of Speakerlab K's. Still sound VERY good.
absolve2525
Bump, new price $750. Come on now, people. Not much difference from the Klipsch version. Yes, I've heard both. K Horns. New caps, real wood veneer. I just don't have room! Near Columbus, OH. Edited November 12, 2015 by absolve2525
DizRotus
Are the woofers 4 or 8 ohm? The default way from Speakerlab was 4 ohm. My Speakerlab SKhorns were special ordered as 8 ohm so they could be used in parallel pairs for a 4 ohm load. I purchased 4 factory built Speakerlab SKhorns in 1976. They were plywood with the aluminum squawker. They sounded very good. The crossovers were the weak link. At $750, these appear to be a bargain. There are many who prefer the Speakerlab woofers. AFAIK, Klipsch never prevented Speakerlab from making their version; the patent had expired. Trademark and copyright were other matters. Speakerlab was prevented from referring to Klipschorns or in any other way violating the Klipsch trademarks or copyrights. IMO, the market killed the SKhorn and Speakerlab soon followed. absolve2525
Thanks for the post! I assume these are 4ohm, since they use the crossover shown on their literature and manual. The woofers have plenty of punch and solidity, which gives them a nice full sound. I actually don't think the crossovers are too bad, using the Crites tweeters. Hard to beat for this kinda money. They are large and heavy!

kg4guy
These started out as Speakerlab K Horns Edited November 12, 2015 by kg4guy
DizRotus
The bass bins and woofers alone are worth that price. The Crites tweeters sweeten the deal. Do you still also have the original tweeters?
Khorn4
If I were closer to your location, I would take them in a heart beat. Little far from CA. to drive. I have a good project idea for them. Good luck with your sale.
absolve2525
Thanks for the replies. I don't have the original tweeters. They originally had K77 type with bad diaphrams when I purchased them from the owner. The Crites are excellent modern and rugged replacements, and extend higher. These sound nicely balanced, with the Atlas midrange being rolled off 1st order to blend with the tweeter, which rolls off 12 db/Oct. The woofer has a simple coil on it, and it sounds great.
