Kernel
Rivernuggets, let's do this. I have a 430 and have always wondered how much better the 730 sounds. Xmas early for me! Let me know how you want to do this. I have a Paypal acct. Thanks, Kernel

DizRotus
Rivernuggets-Great. Kernel will be pleased. Now that your 730 is sold, anyone who missed out on yours and is able to wait weeks, if not months, for mine to be refurbished, should contact me. I have two 730s and one 630 being expertly reconditioned. At least two will be available. You can't rush genius. If I see one of them this year I'll be pleasantly surprised. Better right than rapid. Kernel
Rivernuggets made me promise to post some comparisons after getting it hooked up. Currently running Forte IIs with a HK 430 in the garage. Maybe one day the wife will let me bring it in the house! More to follow. Thanks guys and happy holidays. DizRotus
I'm also curious about your impressions. The 430 is rated @ 25 watts RMS/channel, whereas the 730 is rated @ 40 watts RMS/channel. With efficient Klipsch speakers that power difference is probably insignificant. 730 SPECIFICATIONS FIRST MANUFACTURED: 1976 LAST MANUFACTURED: 1977 SPECIFICATIONS:General Power Output : 40 W min. Cool, so if seller's remorse creeps in you are my backup plan, Neil. Thanks for posting the 730 and 430 specs. Kernel, yeah yeah please post your thoughts once you have time after Christmas. sheltie dave
I have owned an HK 430 since 1976. The 430, 630, 730, and 930 are so good I was forced to buy the other three to complete the gang of four. Buy this one, you will not regret it. They sound and work great, and are very well engineered. If so, check with me if you get a craving for a Dale S refurbished h/k x30.
Rivernuggets
did you mean "seller's" remorse? Oops, you're right, seller's remorse. Changed my above post. Dale refurbed my 730 so I know how good his work is. Thanks Neil, let us know when he's finished.

Rivernuggets
I'll have to get one of these someday. You have a lot of speakers to try with a 730 should you buy one. Have a shootout against some of your Sansui gear. With my ears, the 730 sounded better than a Sansui 9090DB. I had Forte IIs for two channel at that time. Not saying the 9090DB was bad......just preferred the 730. They truly are special.

As most know, ears are subjective and worse that that, memory and different rooms really can make a large difference. I want to try it against others that I have in the same watt and price range, such as the Marantz 2238b and the Sansui AU7700.
