ZEUS121996
Up for sale is a Epic CF-3 single in medium oak. There is a cig burn about 3/4 inch long on the top left corner and one of the center plastic frames are broken. These have the short ports so I'm guessing version 3. I was going to use this as a center, but went a different direction. $ 225 shipping is on you or you can pick it up in Fox River Grove, Il. 60021 Mark
JiminSTL
Hey, Dave (wvu80), you see this? A CF-3 as a center! Man, everyone needs a center like that!!!
ZEUS121996
That was the plan, I had 4s in front, 3s for rears and this orphan was going to be the center. Things change Mark
wvu80
I once turned one of my CF-4's on its side, the sound was fantastic. A CF-3 which weighs about six pounds less than a CF-4 would make a tremendous center. I know the mainstream thinking is to "timbre-match" the L/C/R but I am in the camp that believes you should find the best center you can, then find L/R to match. +++ It's hard to read the S/N but I make it 22859??24. The key is digits are 4-5, which when reversed makes the birth year 1995, Version 2 3. In my view a center with a little higher tuning than the otherwise similar L/R is desirable. The 228th day of '95 though...likely a v3. My v3 have a born on date right in that time frame also.

Can we tell by the crossover wire? I know this wire is black/red. I'm not sure about v2 but I do know the v1 has the clear Monster wire.

Interestingly...to me at least...my CF3s were manufactured 13 days after this one. Cool to see one that was built about 2 weeks ahead of mine. Good luck with your sale Mark...this will make a heck of a nice center for someone with a set of 3s or 4s.

wvu80
Going by the red/black wire, it's a version 3. I'm still mulling over shipping options.
