Curious about Retirement

I'm Medicare age, but plan to work until 70 before collecting SS.
If you are at full retirement age for SS at 66, don't wait until you are 70. While it is true you get another 8.5% for each year after for up to four years, it will take you approx. 15 years to break even, meaning it will be 15 years before you make up what you weren't receiving for those 4 years.

I appreciate the input.  My wife will file at 66 and I'll file and restrict, so I'll still be getting a check.  As I stated, I know I'm rolling the dice, but I'm working full time and building a gov't pension.  More than money in my pocket, it's about having the money to spend on what I want.  I'm spoiled and lucky to this point.  At 65, I bowled a 779 series last night.  Someday it will all catch up, but I'm of the opinion that I'd rather die with a sword in my hand.  Thanks again for the advice.
