longdrive03
These were originally birch plywood with exposed layer plywood cabinets. After sanding smooth and cutting out the corner trim notches I installed quartered figured eucalyptus veneer and solid teak corner trim and install side to side and back internal bracing and made new slanted risers with matching veneer. I installed neo magnets under the front board veneer and made new 1/2" grill frames and installed banana plug terminals. Redid the E2 xovers with Solen 400VDC caps and bypass cap on parallel woofer cap. First time using this veneer and I'm spraying with satin lacquer. Still need more coats and then rub down.

mustang guy
Those are beautiful, not to mention beefy! Has anybody ever discussed the pros and cons of adding gasket material to the backs of Heresy's? Have you considered it on this redo? longdrive03
Thanks guys. yes I will use gasket tape on back. Did the same on the cornwalls I just redid (including the removing front motor board screwed in front inside cabinet). Just being persnickity (SP??? - I think that's a word)
longdrive03
Finished with these puppies (except for stretching grill cloth on frames. I spray lacquered these then rubbed down with wet sandpaper and dishwashing soap the applied Minwax finishing wax. Slick as a whistle and smooth. I'll post these in the garage sale section for purchase.

longdrive03
Guys, thanks for compliments. I installed neo magnets under the motor board veneer so the grill frames can attach without unsightly velcro or grill pegs. Best of both worlds. Will finish the grill frames tonight. dtr20
What did you make the grill frames out of? It looks great
longdrive03
Thanks DTR. I used 1/2" BB ply and 3/8" neo magnets (6 per grill) with 6 under the front veneer. Easy to get on and off and no unsightly velcro or grill pegs. BTW these were listed in the garage sale forum but are now SOLD!!!
