thebes
Guess what, Zydeco is not Cajun music. Sad to say one of it's foremost proponents has gone to his reward. Been a fan of his for years now. Read, learn and maybe give the genre a try. https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/stanley-dural-jr-who-popularized-zydeco-music-as-buckwheat-zydeco-dies-at-68/2016/09/24/ce9a3eb4-827a-11e6-b002-307601806392_story.html

Don Richard
I saw him live at Tipitina's in New Orleans some years back. Very high energy, you couldn't stop yourself from dancing. RIP

Moderators dtel Posted October 25, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 25, 2016 I love Zydeco, I always thought of it as cajun music for young people, one of my favorites is Rockin Dopsie Jr. We got to see him live at the crawfish festival and he is an amazing performer, high energy. RT FAN
I got to see Buckwheat a couple of times, one of my favorite Zydeco performers. Most of the old guard are gone from the genre, Boozoo Chavis, Beau Jocque, Clifton Chenier, etc.
