avguytx
About $200 difference but you have 2 separate power supplies but no real major SQ advantage. I could sit one on each speaker though. Ha
mike stehr
Read up on the topic "crosstalk" with stereo amplifiers...it may help pondering. I'm a champ at pondering...
davesans
I had a pair of MKlll's years ago that I got for next to nothing I rebuild them they sounded great better than the ST70 I have now. I got greedy and sold them something I wish I hadn't done.
avguytx
I had emailed Bob back saying I didn't mind spending the extra money but he seems to be more on the side of saving it and staying with the stereo version. Maybe he doesn't have as much to do with those amps as the others?
NOSValves
Well in my professional opinion the pair of Mark III's is a much more robust setup. The output iron is larger and better suited to deliver good frequency response top to bottom in a 60 Wac amplifier. The iron used on the ST120 is a compromise to shoehorn them into the small available space on the original ST70 foot print. Then the advantage of dedicated power supply for each channel cements the deal..
bcarey13
I've yet to try an st-70 but I have a set of Will Vincent Mark III's and I love them.....I had them the same time as my McIntosh MC60's and I think they sounded every bit as good, in fact a/b-ing them I had a couple people blindly pick the Mark III's over the McIntosh. Of course, Will V. did do the restoration/upgrades

TubeHiFiNut
In my opinion (and as stated in the previous responses), monoblocks are the way to go.
avguytx
Waiting on a price on them now. I don't believe they have switching for running in pentode or triode mode like the 70 and 120 but that's not a deal breaker.
avguytx
I deliberate this a little more now as even Roy at tubes4hifi mentioned that's quite a bit of power for Klipsch speakers. Maybe I should just go back to the ST-70 and call it good.
avguytx
Decided on the ST-70. That will be plenty for the speakers I have.
