For the sub I am leaning towards the R-112SW.

Thank you for the help.

If you look on eBay, the seller onecall has this sub.  They have it also in cherry, which I haven't seen other places.  They have both new and "open box."  They are spectacular to deal with, I was happy purchasing from them.  They also sell many other items, both on ebay and their website and their store too if you're in Seattle (IIRC).  I am pretty sure they are an authorized Klipsch dealer too.

If you do the eBay purchase right, you'll also be able to get about a 6% discount by using the eBay gift card purchased at Target, and then getting the eBucks of 1% also.  I think it is possible to do slightly better with some other website promotions, but I hadn't taken that step yet for just a 0.5% or so benefit vs. the risk of the unknown.

So i've narrowed down my receivers to either Denon or Marantz 9.2 receivers. The main features I would be using the receiver for is Dolby Atmos and DTSX. I would also be using them for mostly movies/gaming and occasionally music. My speakers will be the Klipsch reference premiere line: 2 RP-280F, RP-450C, 2 RP-250S, R-112W and later on  i will buy 4 RP-140SA Dolby Atmos modules.

For Denon i'm not sure what the difference between the AVR-X4300H and the AVR-X4400H is. They both are 9.2 channels with 125 watts.

For Marantz I have a bit more options with the SR6011, SR6012, SR7011 and SR7012

My budget is no more then $1500 CAD. The receiver and speakers will be in a 20(L) x 13(W) x 8(H) room.

With Klipsch speakers being so efficient which receiver do you guys think would best fit my setup? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If some of those AVRs have Audyssey XT32, and some only have Audyssey XT, go with the ones that have XT32.  I assume they are all new.  If so, be sure they include the Audyssey App.

In judging power output, ignore the specs that were measured with just 1 or 2 channels opperating.  Search for the power rating with all channels operating, with distortion below 0.1%, 20 to 20K Hz.

Oh!  I posted on this thread earlier, and gave a much more complete answer.  See that post.

Will the Klipsch rp-140sa sit on top of a Klipsch RP-250S? The RP-250S are being used as my rear speakers.

Thanks.

Did you pull the trigger and get your system?  I am looking at the same system as you and am also in Canada. Get the 450 tommorow and will look for some good deals on everything else later.

I will be at the end of the month.

This is the package I am getting. https://www.electronicsforless.ca/klipsch-reference-premiere-rp-280-home-theater-system-no-sub-custom-bundle-5153.html?zenid=31ffcd58730d61f718cb6f382eed9d5f

I have been talking with a product specialist at that store and they will be giving me their boxing day price. Roughly $2700 for everything. I plan on buying the 15 inch sub later on down the road.

What receiver do you have with your speakers?

So I went ahead and finally purchased my speakers/receiver. This is what I went with.

RP-280F x2

RP-450C

RP-250S x2

RP-115SW

Denon 4400

After letting Audyssey do its calibration these are the results that it gave me.

Crossover Settings: Fronts set to large, Center set to small 40Hz, Surrounds set to small 90Hz, Subwoofer 120Hz (Sub is set to LFE)

Speaker levels: FL -8.5 db, FR -8.5 db, C -10.5 db, SL -8 db, SR -6, Sub -0.5 db

How do these settings look? Based on the research I have done I thought the Fronts should be set to small rather than large.

And is it normal to have the center speaker level lower than the fronts?

Thank you for the help.

My room is 13' x 19' with 10' ceilings.  I started out with RF-83, RC-64, & RS-35, then upgraded to RS52, then upgraded the RS-52 to (4) RS-62, then upgraded to (4) RS-62 II, then upgraded my front three to LaScala Trio.

Subs I went from (1) Velodyne HGS-15, then added a second HGS-15, then bought a Klipsch RSW-15.  It sounded as good as the Dual HGS15's so I sold them and over time ended up buying a total of (4) RSW-15's.

My system was built over several years, patiently waiting for ridiculous deals to come along and it has totally paid off.

Here is my current setup

You just can't help yourself from showing off, can you? LOL, it is an amazing set up, you got unbelievable prices, I'm just jealous I can't match you or OPUS for the deals. I have to slink along with my very modest system.  But it works for now :D:D:D

Sorry.  It sure appears that you have one rocking system that "one up" many a system on this forum and around the globe.

Have fun.

Save those settings and then experiment with mains set to small and start at 80Hz.  Try center at 50Hz, 60Hz, 70Hz, etc. and decide on what you prefer.  Play a round a bit.
