  1. Did anybody check further with the detail from the website https://www.cannonsafe.com/digital-vs-mechanical-locks/ Negatives: Batteries must be changed every 6 to 12 months May experience temporary lockout if batteries are allowed to die So has Cannon explained about the "temporary lockout?" As Cannon might say, it depends on your definition of temporary. I also am highly skeptical that there are dozens of different digital locks, I'd get another one and at least try to connect it. It would be a bit ironic if the modern safecracker only needed a new digital lock to switch for the safe they're breaking into. Finally, is it possible that the handle has jammed the locking release? I doubt that any of my theories are any better than Dave's, but still might be worth a try.
  2. If somebody is interested in getting these on the east coast and going far south to GA or FL, I've dealt with a guy who is excellent and might be able to help. He will do maybe one trip per month, so you'd have to be patient too. I don't understand why Dave (wvu80) hasn't added them to his collection, at least they'd be getting closer to Florida.
  3. OK, I too will have to say all "a", since I'm really wanting something for spending my time on this, but with an asterisk to question #3. It is a little known fact, but Gunga Din, the 1939 movie, had a huge impact worldwide!! How could it not with Cary Grant and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., not to mention the guy who played Gunga Din, Sam Jaffee. OK, I said I wouldn't mention him, but I had to. According to Wikipedia, "in 1999, Gunga Din was deemed "culturally significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry." Culturally significant. So to all those who have slighted this great movie, now you know.
  4. Well, that must have been a great deal, here it is an hour later and it is deleted.
  5. OK, here's the message I sent to ZEUS121996 on Friday at 5:17 p.m (Remember, this is over the Thanksgiving/BlackFriday holiday with everything else that is going on).: Hello Mark, I was just letting you know that I haven't heard anything about meeting to pick up the speakers. I don't know if you want to see with the seller what times would be OK, or if you want to give me the seller's phone number and I'll contact him. I will most likely go to his house, as that will be one less loading and unloading. Thanks. Kevin Never heard back from ZEUS121996. Instead he posts here. Doesn't bother to send a PM first. I was actually up a bit early on Sunday morning now to see if I could be getting the 35 miles or so over there to Tampa. So a 70 mile round trip. I even had a possibility of a guy to bring them back to Chicago, but I did say I thought ZEUS121996 would probably have to pay him something, because the guy was more of a friend of a friend of a friend, That would have been a 100 mile or so round trip to meet that guy up north of Orlando. I asked for nothing for doing this, and wouldn't have accepted anything either. Of course, ZEUS121996 never offered either. It was supposed to help somebody on this forum, where there are so many great people. This guy is actually some rich guy who used to partially own a racehorse, and can EASILY pay for shipping, yet he wants somebody else to do it for nothing. So good luck to anybody else who wants to try to help. It proves the saying "No good deed goes unpunished."

    Khorns in Ohio

Didn't Budman tell a much more detailed story about this purchase? I thought I read about a guy grabbing a tag, but now I can't find the story.

If you haven't already added these, and no I didn't get to purchase them. I'm assuming sold for $1800.:
  8. If they can be picked up next Saturday, Sunday, or Monday I can see about getting over there. Before then is fairly questionable, but if it is critical I can try to shift priorities.
  9. If you're ABSOLUTELY desperate, and Youthman can't keep them in his living room for a few months, I am in Bartow and could go to Tampa and bring them back here for awhile. I go to Tampa not regularly but occasionally. It should be fairly straightforward too, since they're right off of I-75 and not too far from Rt. 4. Anything smaller than Klipschorns and I can take the Nissan LEAF (its electric!). Now, I just can't match this though :http://www.swapmeetdave.com/Humor/Workshop/Overload.htm

    LG c7 Oled...

Ummm, is that some exotic disease? Have I caught it?
  11. It is obvious, you should have taken the fork in the road, Yogi could have told you that.
  12. OK, that gets me thinking of "My Woman From Tokyo." True story. I know a guy who married a Japanese lady. So one day she gets the property tax bill and is furious. So she goes down to the property appraiser's office and raises a huge commotion, their house is worth much more than it is appraised at by the property appraiser's office.
  13. OK, I don't think Yogi Berra ever went to Hamburg, so I don't have any reply.
  14. oldtimer, you should already know this, if you don't know where you're going you might not get there.
  15. If you ask me anything I don't know, I'm not going to answer.
  16. You know, I'm thinking this is déjà vu all over again.
  17. So is this something along the lines of Yogi Berra's quote, "When I see a fork in the road I take it."
  18. I know what you mean, check out the LG refrigerators where the light would stay on. How do I know about that, except that I caught it before the meltdown. It turned out to be a bad relay on the board. Now I only keep one light in the refrigerator. But, as far as OLED TVs go, the only other alternative is Sony, which is overpriced and we lived with the famous Sony Vertical Line Syndrome for several years before we chose the LG OLED. In my opinion the LG OLED is better than the Sony in many ways. I'll whisper so Dave doesn't hear, but Vizeo has a pretty poor reputation too from what I understand.
  19. So you DO have the 65" LG OLED on standby?
  20. Oh ya, I'm STILL trying to forget those, but I don't think I'll be able.
  21. OK, I'm tired of this Thaddeus Smith guy. First it was his videos, now he's here swearing! In French no less!! He needs to be banned and this thread LOCKED. NOW.

    LG c7 Oled...

You're not kidding, and even dads have a tough time paying the price! BUT, I was in the same situation, I asked on Amazon about getting a 55" OLED instead of the 65" OLED, as it was MUCH less, and he said, "Save your money and get the 65 inch" and he was right. It is an incredible TV, expensive yes, but worth the price. When I bought too, there was not even a remote possibility of a deal like Schu is offering, it was new or nothing. Here, you're getting a year-old TV, essentially the same as this year's features AFAIK, for a huge price reduction. I have exactly the same TV, mine is a year-and-a-half old. If somebody walked into my house and said they'd give me $1800 for it, or even $2000, I wouldn't sell. I'd just have to go out and get another one.
  23. Given Thaddeus' previous postings, I'm thinking about resorting to personal insults!
  24. Wow, I have the strangest feeling of déjà vu. If I'm not mistaken, jimjimbo is going to start talking about his long-term housing plans?
  25. Boy, I thought oldtimer might be referring to me, but I had to look up erudite.
