kenratboy
Yes, you did start up on the topic, but I REstarted it for fun Could you imagine those $50 sub/sat combos being THX approved. I can't, well, actually, I can...
justin_tx_16
pretty soon their headphones will be THX certified... ghasp!

prodj101
the funny thing is we all know it will happen. I have never really sought after things with THX certification, afterall, no krell, mcintosh, or Klipshorn speakers have THX do they? and they will devestate anything with it! TheEAR
THX certified compost is next,if see THX certified Inspire speakers I will puke.THX certification lost most of its prestige(if it ever had much)when PC speakers started to be certified.Just because some glorified boombox reaches 115dB with minimal distortion means bull.Sound quality is not deaf output alone, its detail, dynamic range, finesse and tonality.Imaging and soundstaging most THX certified speakers dont even deserve to be compared to my smallest and least expensive Dynaudios. THX is pure marketing these days
kenratboy
Ahhhh, THX and Bose. You know, I scared myself, it will happen. Could you imagine the Lifestyle system being THX approved? With that ~100Hz. frequency gap?
Deang
I'm kind of taking a different approach. I'm in the market for some of them cones. You know, the kind you set your gear on. I'm having some trouble making up my mind. I don't know if I want the $500 cones, or the $50 cones. I'm bummed, because I might have to buy ALL the cones to see which ones "sound" the best. So... ...I've just decided I'm not buying any cones, unless they are THX certified.
Manuel Delaflor
Maybe Im wrong. But THX, at least for speakers, means some amount of volume and frecuency response. Not quality of audio.
kenratboy
You would be correct. Yout cannot measue sound quality. However, for home THX, sound quality usually comes with the compliance of the THX requirements.
