Pretty much official Harb's is leaving blue after the bowl games are over so I was told today.  Ppl have been saying that but it's pretty much etched in stone now.

Sitting here watching the Natty with the two B1G teams playing.  Since Washington joined the B1G on 1 January this year and blue is already a member?  Oh yea, it's the 2023 Natty.  lolol  Then the next thing that makes me wonder will blue have to vacate the win after the NCAA rules on the spygate scandal?   If Harb's leaves it'll prolly get swept under the carpet imo.  Whatever shakes out right now it's hat's off to blue on the Natty!

It is what it is.  Just keep taking notes cause it's gonna be happening EVERYwhere!  The times they are a changin. 

 

A 12-team playoff next year?  Think about that one insted of a balloon popping.  Almost like a shotgun wedding. 

 

We'll all be payin to watch the gladiators in a couple years.

Sooooo Nicky boy is retiring from Alabama?  Word on the street anyway.  Things that make ya go hmmmm?  Who's gonna do the AFLAC commercials w/the duck?    Saying he can't deal with the transfer portal or doesn't want to.  Who knows?  

 

Saban's retirement wasn't a big surprise to me.  He paid 18M for  an ocean side estate in  southern Florida in August.

 

The only people that were truly shocked were the 21 recruits he just signed as the #2 recruiting class.

Bama isn't wasting any time.  They don't want to lose those 4-5 star recruits that many other teams are salivating for and working on already.  I DO know OSU has talked to a couple of them that decided Bama over OSU.  Then factor in a new coach?  Could kill that recruiting class of Saban's. 

 

Dabo's jet landed this afternoon in Tuscaloosa, AL.    Yup, haters gonna hate!  😂  BREATHE, out with the old air and in with the new air?  Gonna be interesting to say the least.  He must have been the first one on the list.

Interesting?  Harbs interviewed w/the Chargers and was offerred the head coaching job, which he supposedly accepted today.  Nothing much coming out yet but...  It remains to be seen if he'll be saved harmless by blue after the NCAA investigation and the possibility of them having to vacate the Natty and many conference games in the past years.

 

Oh the OTHER side of rhe coin the portal has been so VERY  kind to the Buckeyes especially w/the retirement of Saban @ Bama.  We picked up their starting Center, QB and Safety so far in addition to Air Nowland committing.  Needless to say, the QB room is now OVER loaded with talent.  Many other Buickeyes have decided to return to OSU after hitting the transfer portal after the loss to Missouri.  It's about unfinished business they say.  Coach Day has been trimming the coaching fat and replacing people with more qualified people imo.  A new OC so he can totally step back from play calling and devote more time to the game itself.

 

At what cost you say?  So far the number I've seen is 12M spent in the NIL portal @ OSU.  Recently CJ Stroud paid into the funds at the platinum level which is 50-100k.  The entire athletic department raised 234Mil last year.   Many of those high dollar athletes are donating monies back into their respecctive program to insure other players get a cut of their personal money in an all-for-one effort.  That's happening at a lot of universities it seems.  Some crazy numbers out there for sure.  The 234mil number is across the board w/all sporting activities at the university.

Some hitting the spring NIL portal, which closes soon then we'll be set for fall.

 

NCAA has hit blue, which resolves one of the cases against them during the Harbaugh tenure.  Still haven't reached anything on the "Spygate" cheating scandal and basically Jimbo is taking his khaki's to the NFL with brother John and won't be back after 9 years at the helm.

 

Here's a good read on one of their first cases invoving recruiting during the Covid Dead time.  Coach Moore is paying for Jimbo's infractions and there's more?  lol

NIL $$$ spent @ OSU this year?  20M.  They don't smoke ppl then it WILL get interesting!  😂
