Invidiosulus
Ya well, I have a test cd fom bass mekanik that has a number of stepped test tones as well as sweep tones including a sweep tone that goes from 40Hz to 0Hz There are also some freeware tone generator programs out there for your pc. Peace, Josh
m00n
Hehe.. The altec speakers here on our family PC was having a hard time after about 80. At 110 my klipsch promedia 4.1 the sub started slapping. Not a fair test between the two subs becuase the altecs were not being played at any reasonable volume... I need to retest those at a higher volume.
Juba310
yeah, my klipsch 5.1's gave out around 110 as well...
Invidiosulus
I listened to the mp3 again and it sounds to me like the mp3 starts dropping off due to compression before my headphones do. Going from a CD source test tone my El-Cheapo headphones hit down to about 22Hz although the mp3 starts dropping out at about 100Hz. Yet another case of sound information being discarded when converted to mp3. Try something like this on your computer, http://www.dazyweblabs.com/sg2102/ Be careful though, Don't blame me if you blow up your LoudMedia 5.1's etc. Peace, Josh
TwoWatt
I found the same link on HTF. I tried it on my cheapo Labtec computer speakers & I found mine died at 60hz. Not bad...........
GooseChaser
yup, PM5.1 dies after 110hz, what does this mean? I thought I read the frequency response for PM5.1 is 25hz - 20khz...
TheEAR
Mua ha ha my modest PC sound system is strong down to 30hz and still has some good energy at 20Hz.At 40 and 30Hz the room shakes like a leaf As for my large HT... LOL 10Hz is there thanks to the HGS18
tpg
Well, Ear, some of us do not have as modest of a PC system as you. We have the PM's. LMAO They are ok down to 50-ish Hz, I think, but at about 30 Hz, I get almost nothing, and 20Hz is almost inaudible unless you put your head by the sub. I like the 50-Hz region... just turn on a tone and crank it. Shakes stuff eevrywhere. It is fun to abuse PC speakers. lol
