sheltie dave
Thanksgiving is almost upon us, so I would like to pause and reflect on may of the good (and bad) events in the past year with my Klipsch buds. The single greatest event outside of marrying my beautiful, patient wife was the birth of our first son. Fifteen years ago, Liam would have been born stillborn, as he had his cord wrapped twice around his neck and then around his arm, but the "modern" fetal monitor noted his heartbeat would disappear whenever my wife shifted positions at the hospital. After we got home, Colleen's sister, who has CP, freaked out and tried to kill Liam two nights running, so we were run through the state psychiatric system. Fortunately, we now have her on meds that have reduced her anxieties to a managable level. A new house, a new used car, three new jobs for me, and new used Khorns, Belles, Heresys and various equipment litter the basement at our new house, and we enjoy getting them workouts when we can Fifteen years ago while on a six month Mediterranean deployment, I wrote in our happiness log that "happiness is my sheltie running a security alarm drill at 2am in the morning, as a cat goes skanking across the yard." Well, it occurred last night, and afterwards I had to warm up a bottle, feed the tyke, and change his diaper while he blew me raspberries. I got the first part correct - I just did not realize there would be a second half that went with the first. We all have our petty quirks and idiosyncracies, especially related to audio; in our pursuit of excellence let's not forget to give thanks by helping those who can really use a kind word, a hot meal, or good used clothing that you no longer want, need, or can fit in this season. Tell those you love that you love them. Give thanks to God, or to a special person that brightens your life. The measure of a person's soul is weighed by those he helps. Champagne taste beer budget
Your story rings far too true, Dave. After three years of monthly 100 mile one way trips to a fertility specialist, my wife and I conceived our daughter, Claire. Labor went fairly well, but once the serious contractions started, the fetal heatbeat would disappear. After several hours and much anticipation, it was decided to take the baby by Cesarian. Lucky for us, because the cord was wound twice around her neck, and a natural delivery would have surely resulted in suffocation, or at the least, severe brain damage. Claire is now a healthy 3 1/2 years old, and the light of our lives. We tried to conceive again, but after another 2 years, insurance for the procedures ran out, and at over $1,000 a month for the Furtinal and Clomid alone, plus whatever other meds we had tried, plus the cost for the procedures, we decided that we would be blessed with our Claire and be satisfied that we were at least able to have one "miracle" baby. Although I am by no means wealthy, I run my own business, successfully, my wifes and my parents are both alive and healthy, we have a nice, if modest, home on a lake, with plans on building a new home next year. We never want for anything we actually need, but always long for things we would like. We have a circle of close friends, good neighbors, and a wonderful 11 yr old Yellow Lab that cost us over $2,000 for knee replacement surgery 9 yrs ago, but she's part of the family. All in all, it's a good time of the year to be thankful for all we have. But I still want Khorns.

sheltie dave
Fini, Bob has the HK 430 and my LaScalas. He plays them at unholy levels and loves them. The police visit every weekend. If you tell God this detail, there are enough neighbors of his complaining that I will be roasting in ---- rather than listening to Jubilees in heaven. A small oversight; however, knowing Bob, a needed one!

neo33
It was such a "painful reality" for me to realize that no one wants to let go of their Moondogs. Are they that good? Why am I the last one to find out? How come there is no fricking pair of Moondogs in the SF Bay so I can audition them? Why does God not answering my thanksfulness? I deserve some Moondogs for my relentless search of audio nirvana. Are you guys listening?

garymd
Happy Thanksgiving to all. I also have much to be thankful for. My son is coming home from college today to spend the long weekend with us and I may see my 16 year old daughter after the John Mayer concert tonight she's been invited to. She has such a busy social life I don't see her much except during the school week these days! My wife quit smoking last week due to throat problems only to find out she needs to have her tonsils removed (surgery scheduled for Dec 16). She's doing well and I'm extremely proud of her. Not easy after 30 years. I'll be quiting within the next 2 weeks myself. Wish me luck. My grandparents will be with us tomorrow (94 and 91 years old). I thank God for them every day. Dave, My daughter Kelly was born 4 weeks early. She had the cord wrapped around her neck 5 times! She was about 4 lbs and was truely a miracle child. 16 years ago (as of last week) her chances were much slimmer than today. They've made great progress in that time. I know what you must have gone through during the delivery. Everybody please travel safely and don't drink and drive! Happy Thanksgiving to my Klipsch family.
