AndyKubicki
My first though upon seeing this design was does it eliminate opportunity for hum by having the chassis act as an electro-magnetic insulator...but then, I dunno...
jazman
There's not much to work on with the X. There are no resistors or capacitors in the signal path. It is a directly coupled design. NO passive components in the signal path. Klipsch out.
coda
See page 15, Valve magazine Vol 6 No 1 Believe Don Garber is still a 2A3 man at heart.

Clipped and Shorn
Sideways tubes skew the sonics and cause you to turn your head sideways in order to hear it right thus leading to neck pain, also you end up with dead electrons accumulating on the glass bottom and there is no drain spigot there. If tubes were designed to run sideways they would have the pins on the side instead of the bottom. This design is all wrong unless the unit is rotating in non-gravity outer space, in which case it is perfect. Don't get me started about the sideways transformers and stuff. c7s

jt1stcav
Ditto. I need my "Mobile" fix to survive on this forum, plus I'd like to get his take on the "X" amp!

Deang
His take on the amp would be that the 2A3 version would sound better, be more "sublime", have more of that "see through quality", etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc... ... ... ... ... ... etc. You guys really need to start learning how to use the search utility. Also, the email function works pretty good too. Kelly is very good about responding to mail -- just email the loon if you want to talk to him.
