junk250
I just found these today at a yard sale for a song.I would be too embarrased to tell you what I paid...well O.K.,$20.00 for the set(sold as-is and seller said they had no idea if they worked or not). They looked like well built homemade speakers at first glance, but I noticed they had two horns,so I looked closer and then saw the Klipsch label, very hard to keep a straight face after that!I'm glad to say they work perfect and sound AWESOME!I'm listening to them right now,I bet my neighbors are gettin' pretty pissed, these babies ROCK.Measure 21"x15"x13",with 10" woofer and two horns.Label says type: "HBR" and cabinet is stamed with 101U974,but thats all I know. What are these called?,age?,wattage?Ohm?,and any other info would be appreciated. Also they are missing the emblems off the grilles, would like to find some, wonder if Klipsch would sell me a pair of emblems for these? What makes these sound so much better than most other speakers? They dont look like much at all,but hook em' up and WOW!Right now they are hooked up to a vintage Pioneer 120 WPC receiver. michael hurd
Sweet deal! They are heresy birch raw = no finish. These were sold to people who wanted to finish the speakers in the stain or color of choice. Unfortunatly, i'll have to let someone else decode the date on them. junk250
Well, you guys know your Klipsch,Heresy raw it is.105 watts constant and 500 Watt peak.I'm Proud as a mother duck, and disturbing the peace.I recently found a similar bargain,a pair of AMT-1's,but one needs a tweeter diaphram and have not replaced it yet.I must say these little ugly "raw" speakers are in the same class as the AMT heils. How do they pack so much sound/power into a small speaker? Is it components or design or both? And I would like to know the date these were made. junk250
Today was my lucky day ! Check out my new Klipsch, chapter two.You guys helped me identify a pair of HBR Herseys I bought a couple of months ago at a yard sale.Sweetest speakers I've listened to...until today. Chapter two, well I did it again.Found these today I fell in love with the old yard sale Herseys and wouldn't sell for any amount of money, and today I found these!I paid more for these ($60.00 for the pair).I just hooked em' up and these are even better sounding!...can it get much better than this?I'm hooked on Klipsch! Help me with details please, what are these, specs, woofer in the back. P.S.,I just missed a steal on a Sansui 5000 series tube pre-amp and Amp the other day,$20.00 short and came back 10 minutes later with the cash and they were gone.Man what a BUMMER,that 200 watt per channel would have rocked those Hereseys I bet..well you can't win em' all.Disturbing the neighborhood Thanks guys
Professor.Ham.Slap
Holy freakin' crap! Where do you live again?! Seriously, most people here are still looking for their first big Klipsch score and you pull off two in almost as many months... I really hate you right about now. junk250
Hamslap, They call me the snoop(anything of value),I keep my nose down. But I agree,2 sets of Klipsch...right place right time, just wish I got the bid Sansui Amp and Pre-amp,maybe next time. The old Herseys were all I could ask for,and now these.Even better, and big fat base, sound's like G. Jones is sitting on the couch,I cant turn it past two on the volume without wakeing the neighbours on an old pioneer receiver.Life is good! But I'm out of room, might be forced to sell one set.<8)[img src='http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/images/smilies/4.gif'>
skonopa
Nice! The only thing I've managed to score was a pair of old Pioneer CS-99A's this past spring. One of my friends at work had them and he was about to throw them away. He asked me if I wanted them, so I said "Sure, I'll take them!". He let me have them for the wooping price of $0.00. I hooked them up to an old Yamaha R-V702 reciever I had lying around, and they sounded friggan awesome! Still, I probablly should try to hit the yardsales (there are plenty of them around on a typical spring and summer weekend - hell, there were a few around this past weekend, since the weather here was so friggan awesome! Still, I've yet to see anybody beat GaryMD with that pair of K-horns that he got for the grand total of $0.00!

I noticed you live in KY... so do I. Whereabouts are you located? Any tips on some decent yard sales to hit in Western KY? heh I could use some $20 Heresy's...
