nicholtl
For a moment I thought it said "Black Belt." Figured you were looking for a challenge in the octagon.

Al Klappenberger
I have not heard of black Belles. The Belle was intended to have pretty woodwork. That was its reason for existing! If you wanted a black one, you got a LaScala! Al K.
Born2RockU
No way !!! Don' tell me that. The LaScala is too tall , thick and ugly....in my opinion . I guess i will hopefully find a Belle and then will stain it BLACK !
Al Klappenberger
RockU, I am 90% sure black was not a normal option. Look at it this way: The "Belle" was named after PWK's first wife "Eve Belle". Why would he want to make an "ugly" opton for that model? He would have never gotten out of the dog house! Al K. Erik Mandaville
Born2: if you have some other natural wood tones in your house, a wood veneer Belle might compliment the interior in a way that's not so bad -- even if your Klipschorns are black. Al Klappenberger
RockU, Here's an old (1975 or so) price list. Note all the woodwork options for every speaker EXCEPT the Belle. Al K.
Parrot
It was available, just rarely requested. http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=46654&forumID=
Tom Mobley
I've seen a picture of a black Belle, it wasn't piano black but some kind of stain and finish over oak or ash. I can't remember who had it, I don't even know if they had one or two.
Tom Mobley
yep, that's the one all right. Paul knows all, tells all.
scott0527
I took my ugly black La Scalas and had them stripped and restained in Black Walnut. I'd post a picture but just like when Kerry's daughter's nipples showed through that black dress as Cannes, when you photgraph these, the flash cuts right through the black and they just look like dirty birch La Scalas. What was the question again?
WMcD
I saw a pair of black Belle's in Saturday Morning Audio about five years ago. They were a bit worn and SMA wanted $2000 for the pair. It didn't quite add up to making a purchase. My recall is that they were oak underneath. Andy had told us that black versions of speakers, and I infer all speakers from Hope, came about when the normal veneer had a flaw. So perhaps it was a matter of availablity by chance rather than the order sheet. Best, Gil
Al Klappenberger
Guys, They look pretty good in black. Were they from the factory like that or somebodies own mod? Some people have been know to do some strange things to Klipsch speakers! Al K.
cjgeraci
Al: I believe they were from the factory like that because I know of another black Belle in St. Louis (wonder who?) and no, he does not want to sell it. Unless there was a mod monster sweeping the country and blackening the Belles. Carl.
