They are not sure what make they are but brought 3 sets of them and want to pass the savings on to you, perhaps they are better than Klipsch Think they are BIC? jacksonbart
"note these speakers weight about 40 pounds a piece" what are they made of cardboard??? an RF-7 weighs 90 lbs.... ---------------- But it's corrugated cardboard, which has some very fine acoustic properties. What I like the best is, the owner is not sure who makes them, but dont worry they come with a full warranty.
Moderators Amy Posted February 25, 2005 Moderators Share Posted February 25, 2005 Then why did he list the brand name as Klipsch? The RF-7s also have 10" woofers, not 8".
colterphoto1
Amy will be bringing legal proceedings forthwith. Get em Amy! Frzninvt
Those are utter and complete junk, they stole the look from Klipsch. I hope you like woofers with 1 Oz magnets and 1/2" voice coils. - Gimme a break!
Tony Reed
Sorta reminds me of the old "white van" scam. Anybody remember that? Tony
dodger
Greetings: It does not matter if they are BIC or not. A comparison shows that they are not Klipsch. As for them being Corrugated Cardboard - has anyone ever seen how it separates when wet or subjected to dampness? Makes me think of a House of Cards. Pass the savings... one has to factor what the cost of manufacture is and also whether the seller is legitimate. This has a very foul odor to it. dodger

jacksonbart
"I wonder if you can get those other speakers in Natural finish?" I think as long as you use very very fine sandpaper and go slowly, you know cause cardboard is good and all but sandpaper can do a number on it, you can get it back down to the original box finish. As Amy questioned " Then why did he list the brand name as Klipsch? I think its because the speaker enclosure is made from a RF5 box. jacksonbart
Was just making a joke and bringing it to light. I could not agree more, its a pathetic attempt attempt to rip people off using your company's name/reputation.
Moderators Amy Posted February 25, 2005 Moderators Share Posted February 25, 2005 Ok--I thought you were being serious! It's one thing to do a Klipsch knock-off speaker, but it's another to actually claim it's a Klipsch...even though he contradicts himself by listing the product as "Better than Klipsch." MrMcGoo
The woofers look like real Klipsch 8 inch Reference woofers. There is no chance that they sound like RF-7s with better bass unless the laws of physics have been repealed. The crossover is probably straight wire or a generic that is not designed for the drivers or cabinet. The cabinets look like 1/4 inch plywood. The cardboard comment is accurate, since there will be voids in the thin plywood. I wonder whether the drivers have been blown. Those photos give new meaning to the ancient "caveat emptor." dodger
Read the text of the description. I have great confidence in a person who can't spell: Business Speakers Professionally there Also a 97.1 % feedback rating, I wonder WHO warranties these speakers? Can't a person who is selling know what kind of speakers but says they are Klipsch? Or Spell PROPERLY? He even missed I'm - Im What a joke!! dodger
