Jimmy James
Finally took the leap and signed up. Love talking all things hi-fi! Don't tell the wife though, she claims I waste enough time as it is!
chuckears
So, what's your Klipsch? ... or you can be like one of the regulars (Kenratboy?), and make about 3,000 posts before you even buy anything from the sponsor company Anyway, welcome! ...and please don't ask any cable or interconnect questions, as my blood pressure has been a bit high lately
sputnik
Welcome Jimmy James. I liked your name so much, I Googled it. There was a Jimmy James who was a captured RAF officer and who was part of the actual Great Escape during WW II. There was Jamaica Jimmy James & the Vagabonds - a sixties soul group. There is a Quebec jazz guitarist named Jimmy James. Then there is this Jimmy James, oooops , who I'm sure is NOT you.

I got a mixed bag of amps and receivers, nothing fancy, just nice and reliable. As for wires and cables, I use zip cord for speaker hookup or the old style Monster when it's on sale. Buy interconnects the same way, whatever's on sale and made decent. I spend my money on music, but may go bigger in the speaker department after we move this summer, been house hunting all week for a decent lease. Better not let the old lady catch me here with you guys!

psg
Welcome aboard! You'll love it here Fair warning... It tends to leads to unplanned upgrades and purchases when fair-priced used Heritage gear are mentionned that are close to where you live. Can't say you haven't been warned. Olorin
Peter is right. My wife pointed out to me the other day that I've bought four sets of Klipsch speakers since we were married less than two years ago, and the buying spree's commencement roughly corresponds to my enrollment here. chuckears
JJ, Jimmy James was also the name of the station owner of the the short-lived show Newsradio; played by the late Stephen Root, one of my favorite character actors. He and Phil Hartman were as solid as they come...
Mighty Favog
But you don't have to call me "Johnson". Sorry, just reminded me of a comic routine from the early 80's.

I think my wife's done having babies though. She got to break the trend when our last child and only daughter came along and named her Valerie. Now we've got two "VJ" days around here!
