Mighty Favog
When I worked at a stereo store there was a table in one of the sound rooms that had a glass top and was supported by a woofer of just about that same dimension.

j-malotky
The Patrician did not have a 32" woofer. They had an 18" woofer. They licensed the Khorn design from PWK, and scaled it larger for an 18" woofer. I never liked the sound of them personally. JM
Dylanl
Why do they sell for so much cash? Are there very few of these in circulation?
TBrennan
Early Patricians used an 18". Later ones such as the ones shown used the EV-30W. A 30" woofer.
djk
EV Patrician, circa 1984: guts http://www.audioheritage.org/images/misc/ev/EVBrochure_13.jpg front view, grill off (woofer is on the back) http://www.audioheritage.org/images/misc/ev/EVBrochure_10.jpg "Can you say EXCURSION?" Can you say 'the EV30W doesn't have any'? About 3.5mm coil overhang. 100dB/W though. 200 cu ft box works well, needs a port big enough to hold a Cornwall. Will go to 32hz in a 50~60 cu ft box. Sold mine to an organ freak, should have kept it as a conversation piece.
CaptnBob
Styrofoam cone, and not much power handling, either. As was mentioned about, the Patricians I-IV had an 18" woofer in a "supersized" Klipschorn. The later Patrician 600, 700 and 800 series were still corner cabinets, but had the 30" woofer facing into the corner. Anyone remember Hartleys and their 24" (!) waterproof (!!) woofers? Their ads showed them half submerged in an aquarium.
mbajner
i thought EV did build a 30" woofer at one time back in the early 70's

EVGuy
Hi Guys, new here. Been reading the posts for several months though. I have a Patrician IV with the 18WK. Awesome sounding speaker. I've heard that the 30" they used in the Patrician 800 did not sound as good.
TBrennan
Bob--Back in the early 70s a pal of mine had Hartley Concertmasters with the 24" woofer. Pretty good speakers.
