customsteve01
Thats a bummer. I met him when I was in High School. He played the lead role in Play it Again Sam that Our drama calss went to see at a dinner theatre. Seenmed like a nice man we stayed after the show was over and he talked to us for a while and gave us all autographed pictures. Parrot
Maybe this isn't the time for the blame game, but you gotta admit, if Gilligan hadn't messed things up every week, the castaways would have got off the island. I must've seen every episode. Those were the days, when you had three choices on TV. R.I.P.
RickB
I know this is gonna show my age, but I never thought of him as Gilligan. He will always be Maynard G. Krebs to me.

J.4knee
Yeah it is kind of sad to think Gilligan is gone. RIP Gilligan, well miss ya! I believe there are only three left now, Dawn Wells, Tina Louise and Russell Johnson.
Mighty Favog
Now we'll never really know if he did the "horizonal bop" with Tina Louise. Just an on-going feud I heard about between those two.
Malcolm
I always liked Bob Denver, first as Maynard, then as Gilligan. Anybody remember Dusty's Trail, a short lived, low budget western series with Bob Denver? It had the same plots and characters, except they were on a broken down stage coach out in the middle of nowhere. Sherwood Schwartz sure knew how to wring every last cent out of a concept. Well, at least we still have Bob Denver on film, etc.
WMcD
I'm pleased that someone remembers Maynard G. Grebs in The Many Lives of Dobbie Gillis (sp). Maynard was the beatnik type and, from memory, it was a prototype for Gilligan. The Many Lives was not half bad, at least from memory and at points somewhat touching. Dobbie (Dwain Hicknan) would do a stand up in front of a statue of "The Thinker" by Rodan. Best, Gil
seti
If you've seen Galaxy Quest my favortie part of the movie Gwen: We are not the people you think we are.Mathesar: I don't understand.Alex: Don't you make any TV shows on your planet? Any theater, films?Mathesar: The historical documents of your culture, yes. In fact, we have begun to document our own history from your example.Gwen: No, not historical documents. They're not all historical documents. I mean, surely you don't think "Gilligan's Island" is a (The Thermians moan in unison.)Mathesar: Those poor people...
