Colin
are all these items mint and refrubished, with new tubes?
Kudret
Thanks, Tom. Colin, I am not sure if I would call them mint. I used "very good", "good" to describe their condition on the web pages, and I can provide additional pictures if needed. Only Scott 299, Fisher SA100, 400C, Eico HF81 are refurbished. As for tubes, Sovtek 5AR4s are new. Sovtek 6BQ5 on HF81 and 7189s on SA100 test like new. I'll updae the web pages as I have a chance to test the other tubes. If you had a particular unit in mind please let me know. Kudret
NOSValves
Kudret, You collected up some great pieces! I can't believe your parting with the stuff. Craig
Kudret
Can't believe it myself either, Craig. Probably I will regret it later. I found a very clean pair of MC30's and I want to get them. I hope some of these pieces pay a visit to your shop to get the treatment they desereve. I heard thet X1000 was one of the finest Fisher units and it certainly needs to be rebuilt. mobile homeless
Kudret, I'm a bit taken back as well. In my view, you should keep at least one vintage EL-84/6BQ5 amp and/or integrated as a sampling of of a piece of gear employing this excellent tube. These amps seem to have their own unique take on things that I have always found enticing and worth as a keeper, even in a steller lineup of modern separates. If you DO keep one, I think it's worth seeking out a better sample than the Sovtek. kh
Klipschguy
Hey Mobile, good to see you around! Be careful about getting rid of ALL your vintage equipment, Kudret, as interest in it will certainly return - it kind of waxes and wanes. Kudret
Kelly and Andy, I still have a few pieces left to play with (Scott 299B & 222D, etc.) I simply have too many of them, and I need some money and the space. NOSValves
Kudret, I tell you one thing that X1000 is calling my name hard! I've heard great things about that amp. But I need another amp around here like I need a hole in the head[] Someone snatches that yup and wants it gone over they get the "Craig real curious discount on the work" Craig
Parrot
Kudret, I'm sure that the people who want to tell you what to do would be happy to donate you enough money to buy the Mac amps you want. That way you will be able to keep all your vintage equipment too.
