Screw 'em!! That's what I

say. What of the ignorant a-holes that give their stuff to

Goodwill and you go in and pick it up for a few lousy bucks;

come on the forum and we all praise you and are not-so-secretly jealous

that we didn't score that deal. Everybody is looking for a

good deal that's why people go to garage sales, estate

sales, thrift stores, etc. It's all based on peoples own

ignorance of what somethings worth. You ever watch Antique

Roadshow? If you don't have any sense of what your own

possesions are worth, then they must not mean much to you at all.

I see your point. That's why my wife totally knows what all my stuff is

worth and I update the list with dates and current prices whenever I

buy or sell something. I'll be damn if some SOB is gonna come in and

write what she thinks is a big check and take all my stuff for pennies

on the dollar! The only thing she would have trouble with is my record

collection wich is over 5,000 records. I do not think she would be

patient enough to want to take the time to sell them individually or in

bunches for what she could get. I agree though with the internet most

people can get at least a ballpark figure of what they own and what

it's worth.

Every time I hear it, I get the little, warm fuzzies all over again.

WRONG!!!!!!

You can't dictate actions to be based on "the right thing to do." Just imagine what that might possibly be. Heck, let's just get rid off all the law books altogether and have one (1) law: "Thou shalt do the right thing."

Now, I understand, from those who said it, that it makes you feel good to have done what you THINK is the right thing. But imagine the millions of people out there, all with different opinions, tastes, priorities, and tell me how, when you do something like set a price on speakers, you can do the right thing by them all?

You can't, so forget about "the right thing," and just keep doing what you think is right if that's what makes you feel good. Yep, I too will pass the ability to take advantage from time to time.

However, I definitely do not run around trying to save people from what I THINK might be their mistakes. What if it is NOT a mistake, but you just gave them reason to say "You know what? Now that you mention it, I bet I could get more for these." Then, Instead of calling you "nice," "dumb" might be more appropriate.

I bought my KHorns for $1700 used and in very good shape (except the grills). I've seen where people paid $3,000 for used Khorns. Having seen that, am I supposed to tell the seller, "You know? You might be ignorant of what these are worth. I've seen people pay $3,000 for them. Do you still want to take my $1700 offer?"

Who does that? Good Luck!

BTW: Anyone want to venture why our laws do not give people an "out" from their agreements because of their ignorance (excepting children and the insane)? If you think long enough about that, you will understand.
