Bonzo
http://www.craigslist.org/eby/ele/130225945.html I came accross this ad on craigslist, San Francisco area, and was shocked! Who would do such a thing to one of the finest speakers ever made? The only good news would be if you could get them dirt cheap and fix them, if they could be fixed. I know you could part them out but I feel that would be also be criminal!
charlieboy
I saw these also. I hope they take my offer. They look like the can be fixed up with new grills and x-overs. The wood does not look to bad although I did noticed what look's like some water damage. We'll see.

charlieboy
Hey Bud, Nah took some time off. First time in years actually. Look what happens when I get free time on the internet. I really hope I can score these as I miss having a home theatre and these are what the doctor ordered to jump back into one. BTW you asked about the cd player. I love it but I have not turned it on since I got my new vinyl rig up and running strong around a month ago! It really is that good. I'll give you a call if your gonna be around later. Mabye drop me an email. Charlie

Corvette6769
I talked to David, Diana, and Kevin on January 26, about these, the pictures posted were taken for me, then they decided yesterday not to ship them and that they were going to sell them locally.....after I passed on another pair of Belle Klipsch last weekend in favor of these. charlieboy
Well they just sent me a bunch of pictures of these things. They are Fu#*ing thrashed pretty bad. The guy said he had an offer of 1,100.00 for these if I wanted to go higher. I said thanks but no thanks. I can't believe someone would offer that much after seeing the pictures I saw. charlieboy
This is just 1 of the around 7 pics he sent calling this one "Not that bad"!
Corvette6769
He told me that since these were given to him for FREE with a bad midrange driver, that these have survived 7 children and multiple pets, including one that confused these for fire hydrants. I most certainly would not offer $1,100 for these as they are worth a fraction of that considering that the woofers are most likely trash judging by the water stains. These have obviously lived a hard 28 years. I have seen far nicer Belle Klipsch sell for $800.00 and less.
charlieboy
He must have lost a few kids along the way. It sounds like he's telling different stories each time. Here's a quote from part of his email to me. "Sadly, thats what happens when you have 5 lttle boys running around in the house for years. but the beautiful Rosewood veneer doesn't seem to be that bad off on that one, and the other speaker seems to be in very nice condition. I've attached some pictures of what I'me talking about. As for the water damage, that is only on the fabric as far as I can see. I will leave the speakers up for people through today, I already have a person willing to pay $1100. If you could offer more, get back to me, Thank you for your interest"
Dale W
" One of the Finest speaker ever made " ..... thats a strech Even PWK could not understand why anyone would want a PA speaker in there home ... the LaScala was designed as a PA and the Belle is just a LaScala wearing a suit .... charlieboy
Oh well I would like to get some belle's but I'll have to wait I guess. I do not trust this guy when he says quote "As for the water damage, that is only on the fabric as far as I can see ". It sure looks like water damage at the bottom of this pic to me. Jeff Matthews
No, they were never in a flood. [] My dog pees on the same spot and evenly distributes his shower from right to left.

Jeff Matthews
They look like they were scavenged from a Katrina victim and moved to California.
Bonzo
I would place the Belle's/LS in the top ten of my favorites. In the proper room, I feel you can't beat a K-horn. In my room, I had better luck with my old Cornwalls as far as placement and overall sound. In a big room, I like the LS. I think certainly the Belle's are one of the nicest looking speaker that Klipsch, or anyone for that matter, ever made. A beautiful speaker that sounds awesome, pretty good combination![]
