Scanning and downloading artwork to a PC hardrive.

I don't have a flatbed scanner. Can one of the copy shop places like kinkos scan and put the image/artwork on to a 5 inch CDROM or a floppy disc?

Absolutely, any STAPLES, OFFICE MAX, etc..., or even a regular Photo Developing Shop will be able to do this for ya.

Nope, I called, they can only put it on a 7 inch CD-Rom.

Uh... CDs are only 4.75 inches across. Too funny.

You can get an Epson usb scanner for $100 or less. They work great. I believe that model also has a built in light and adapter for negatives and tranparencies too.

Attached is a slide from 1978. Excellent gradations. Detail is good, you can even see the light standards on the bridge. Pretty fast scanning too. I am much happier with the Epsons than the HP scanners (we have both at our house).
