tigerwoodKhorns
I am looking for a cheap receiver for 2 channel in small room. I will be using low end JBL speakers (LX55's) and teh only "musts" are digital tuning. Did I mention that I am looking for cheap - the 17 year old Denon that I had in there was perfect but it is not in my office at work. Thanks, Chris
Jay481985
digital tuning meaning digital radio turning? HK 3480 or 3380 around 250 dollars new.
edwinr
What about Cambridge Audio? For the same price as other manufacturer's 2 channel stuff, you get full surround with superior sound quality. Otherwise if you don't want to spend that kind of money, try a used NAD or Rotel. Don't push it. The PS is barely big enough in most of the SA series and it takes an audible time to recover after clipping. Nice sound otherwise, quiet and clean. I have an SA-200 and a 300. Listening to the 300 now; it's hooked to my PC.
DrWho
So what price range constitutes as "cheap"?
paul cbc
Not digital tuning, but I have a Pioneer SX-535 that I'd let go for $40 + shipping. Nice shape and fits the CHEAP part.[] Paul

J M O N
IMO, the best are the STASIS receivers from Nakamichi. You should be able to find one of the various models from around $100-200. If you're like me and don't consider that to be "cheap" then I would also suggest looking into Luxman. You might be able to find one that is relatively cheap. I also think the silver Luxman products are some of the nicest looking pieces of equipment (and I prefer black for audio components).
