mmiles
C3 should be out by CES (early Jan 2009). MSRP is "planned" to be $3500.00 I'd also look at the Cary Audio Design C11a (shameless plug)... At present I run the DTC 9.8 and love it. However due to my "association" to the industry I might be moving it soon.

Q-Man
I'm getting ready to make the move to the new video and audio formats. The DTC 9.8 has been getting good reviews. I'm now using the Parasound Halo C1 and have been waiting to see what Parasound brings to the table. I like the sound of the C1 so I have to check out the C3. I use the C1's extra channels to send sound to an extra pair of LaScalas that I use for front effect speakers. I think the C3 also has some extra channels, but I don't think you can program them as well as the C1 lets you. The C1 sold for $ 6,000.00, so $ 3,500.00 sounds good for a C3. mmiles
Willy, I'll keep you in mind. I would miss the video side of the 9.8. I use 720p processing feeding a five year old Samsung SL507N DLP RPTV ( internal video processing not so good but it is 5 yrs old too) but I use "through" (no processing) feeding a SIM2 HT380. That I would miss. Looking at the Cary Audio Design C11a and Radiance/Sencore Lumagen. I'm not a "civilian" so it easies the $$$$ pain somewhat. I should know by the end of the month or sooner what direction I will take. Mike
sunburnwilly
Thanks Mike , I have been looking to step up from my 20th century Sony E9000ES . I would probably also upgrade from my 4.5 year old Samsung HLN50 . I just need a good excuse and a new processor might just be it . dkp
Ok, so I'm a little confused. I contacted Integra today regarding the new DHC 9.9 (pictured in this thread) and was told that MSRP is $2,000 and they were unsure as to first date of availability. I later contacted my dealer who stated that MSRP is $2600 and they are in stock. Does anyone have any information that may clarify this for me? I'm also trying to determine the difference(s) between the two units. I compared the features of both side by side on the integra website but am not seeing much of a difference. I have the Integra first on my list of gear to be updated and am very close to pulling the trigger on the 9.8. However, if the 9.9 is a substantial upgrade I may elect to go that route. Optical Standards
The DHC-9.9 is available. I received mine yesterday. It has a MSRP of $2000.00 OP
dkp
I believe they were looking at the DTR 9.9 which does have an MSRP of $2600 rather than the DHC 9.9. I'm ordering mine today.
dkp
I can get a 9.8 NIB and an open-box unit for greatly reduced prices. Send me a PM if you are interested.
mmiles
9.9 has some tricked out Audyessy features like Dynamic Volume etc. The parts, motherboard and DSP make up is about the same according to my sources. Regarding the surround processing I think the 9.9 has another THX mode available as well maybe. The price on the 9.8 units in the garage sale forum are aggressive and will make someone a good deal but I'd bet you could score a 9.9 for $1400 or so once they are readily available. IndyKlipschFan
Integra Introduces World's First A/V Receivers with Onboard ISFccc Video Calibration for All Sources 09/20/08 - Two THX Ultra2 Plus Certified models also feature HQV-Reon VX video processing, THX Loudness Plus, HDMI 1.3a repeaters, HD Radio, and new Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume. DENVER (9/3/08) -- Integra has introduced two new top-of-the-line THX Ultra2 Plus certified A/V receivers that are the first such products to incorporate ISFccc (Imaging Science Foundation Certified Calibration Controls) capability, giving installers a simpler and more effective way to optimize individual video source calibration for high-end home theater installations. The DTR-9.9 and DTR-8.9 are both three-zone capable, and include HQV Reon-VX video processing, new THX Loudness Plus processing, Audyssey's new Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume technologies, HD Radio, and a comprehensive set of custom installation capabilities and features designed specifically for custom installers and systems integration professionals. The Certified for Windows Vista DTR-9.9 also incorporates an advanced suite of networked and streaming digital audio capabilities. The DTR-9.9 and DTR-8.9 are the first A/V receivers available that include ISFccc calibration capability, which allows ISF Certified calibration technicians to custom define both day and night settings for each individual video source component connected to the receivers. Additionally, each input includes a third Custom calibration memory that can be accessed by consumers to adjust video output to their specific tastes. Previously, video calibration was usually limited to one source, or required complex cabling and intricate remote control macro programming to achieve a reasonably user friendly system. The incorporation of these calibration functions in the receiver results in simpler system configurations, reduced set-up time, and end-user systems offering optimal video performance while retaining the ease-of-use of HDMI switching. The DTR-9.9 and DTR-8.9 each include Silicon Image HQV Reon-VX video upconversion processing, accommodating any source video signal with transcoding and upscaling to resolutions as high as 1080p via HDMI (1080i via component-video). Its pixel-by-pixel deinterlacing and scaling processing and sophisticated noise-reduction algorithms yield sharp, artifact-free images from legacy SD signals as well as HD sources. With THX Ultra2 Plus certification the DTR-9.9 and DTR-9.9 are designed to provide outstanding performance with both music and movies in even the largest of theater spaces. The new THX Loudness Plus feature improves how you experience movies at lower volume levels. Because ambient sounds and bass can be lost or perceived differently when the volume is lowered, THX Loudness Plus automatically adjusts the front-to-back speaker level and frequency balance to ensure that you experience all of rich details of movies when listening below reference level. Both receivers include Audyssey's acclaimed MultEQ XT room acoustics correction, the most powerful built-in solution available for countering room distortion in dedicated home theaters. The systems are also Audyssey MultEQ Pro compatible, allowing certified installers to take this process to even higher levels of refinement. The receivers also include Audyssey's newly developed Dynamic EQ technology, which makes adjustments to the output on -the-fly to compensate for reduced audibility and balance between front and surround channels, particularly at lower volume levels. Finally, these are among the first products available to include Audyssey's Dynamic Volume technology, which continually monitors input signals and adjusts gain to maintain a consistent output volume regardless of changes in the source signal strength. Conservatively rated at 145 and 140 watts per channel respectively and certified for use with 4 Ohm speakers, the DTR-9.9 and DTR-8.9 A/V receivers are capable of driving any speaker system to the limits of performance. Each features a massive high-current capable power supply with low-feedback WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) and parallel push-pull topology for extremely detailed performance across the frequency spectrum. The rear surround amplifier channels can also be repurposed to bi-amp the front L/R channels for compatible speakers, or bridged with the front L/R channels to deliver even higher current and power output. Audio decoding and processing in the receivers feature high-quality Burr-Brown 192-kHz/24-bit DACs for each channel, and accommodates every major sound format in use today, including the HD and lossless audio codecs included on the latest Blu-Ray discs. The receivers' A/V processing circuitry is powered by its own separate power transformer for A/V to eliminate interference between amplifier and processing sections. The Integra DTR-9.9 and DTR-8.9 each boast exceptional multizone capabilities, including fixed and variable line level outs with subwoofer for two additional zones. Zone 2 also includes both composite and HD-quality component video outputs, as well as independent tone controls. Zone 2 and Zone 3 both include balance controls as well as maximum and power-on volume settings. The receivers include comprehensive packages of features specifically tailored to the needs of custom installers, including an Ethernet port for integration with network-based control systems. It also includes bi-directional RS-232, RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) system control integration over HDMI, three programmable 12-volt triggers, dual IR inputs, and three unique assignable IR code sets. Lockable customized dealer settings can be independently stored for easy recall, making it simple for installers to maintain complex installations. Integra DTR-9.9 and DTR-8.9 are built to work with all the latest A/V sources and formats. Besides being XM and Sirius satellite-radio-ready (including Neural-THX surround for XM HD), both have built-in HD Radio. The Windows Vista Certified DTR-9.9 also supports portable audio devices thanks to a front panel USB connection, as well as streaming audio via rear panel Ethernet port. Ethernet streaming includes files stored on networked PCs and hard drives in a wide range of formats (MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis), as well as web-based audio programs via Internet radio, including SIRIUS iRadio and vTuner support. The inclusion of Integra's Music Optimizer function ensures the highest fidelity audio performance from all these digital sources. The Integra DTR-9.9 and DTR-8.9 will be available in September at suggested retail prices of $2,000 and $2,600, respectively. Integra designs and manufactures premium Home Theater receivers, processors, amplifiers, and DVD players that are specifically designed to meet the needs of custom audio/video systems installers. System integration and convergence technology protocols include RS-232, IR, and on-board Ethernet for network connectivity and TCP/IP control. Integra has access to vast technical resources, and bears a proud heritage of over 60 years of audio engineering excellence.

What are the differences? Integra and Anthem are the same company. I wonder how close these are in features to not have to jump to almost 8,000 for a pre amp? I am very happy with the Sunfire pre amp (Theater Grand IV) but at some point a HDMI pre / Ultra 2 etc etc makes sense. Some of you love these.. So I am asking what you feel as well? I will def keep the 200x7 amp, it has been or will remain outstadning either way!
OnMedic
The 8.9 and 9.9 look good! The primarty feature I am looking for (my search started Friday) is a minimum of 3 zones, with Independant HD Video out to Zone 2 It looks like the 8.9 and the 9.9 have this feature... can anyone confirm that the zones run HD independant source to 2 HD Zones (Zone 1 being HDMI and Zone 2 being Component). THANKS!Steve
