Thanks for posting this. It's difficult to even begin to comprehend the sheer terror that those first on the beach must have felt. Thanks to all of our veterans and current servicemen for protecting my liberty.

Couldn't agree more. My father went in on D-Day plus one as a replacement. Never talked about it much but he said coming into shore and the first day on the beach was the scariest time of his life, even though he wasn't placed immediately into combat. Couldn't stand being scared all the time so after awhile he just got up and soldered on.
