thebes Posted June 7, 2008 Share Posted June 7, 2008 Couldn't agree more. My father went in on D-Day plus one as a replacement. Never talked about it much but he said coming into shore and the first day on the beach was the scariest time of his life, even though he wasn't placed immediately into combat.
