Billy joe
I use a Dual 1249 TT, can someone tell me why it makes a popping noise out of the right speaker when the arm returns to its rest and shuts off. I'm allways there to turn down the volume when the record is finished. if you don't it will scare the crap out of you.
nu2toobs
Check all of your tonearm cables from the cartridge side and the turntable side. See if you can duplicate the sound by gently wiggling the tiny wires. I stress Gently.

BLSamuel
That sounds like a loose connection to me. A little cleaning of all connecting, gently as already emphasized, and application of Pro Gold anti oxidizing type of treatment might not be a bad idea if you have any on hand. HarryO
The on/off switch on some Duals pops on shut off, switch is underneath an activated by a leaver mechanism These are not sealed switches and can be cleaned with a shot of "deoxit". They get dirty just like volume controls over the years. Also a little "lube" on the levers will smooth out operation and noise. Mallette
One of the techies can confirm this and expound on it, but I seem to recall that Duals and some others use to exhibit that right out of the box. The fix was a capacitor and/or resistor of some value added. Dave

I thought you'd tightened it up a while back. If it's loose again, maybe you need some body putty to fill in the cracks. Maybe silly putty would work?
