Yep....any helmet needs airflow to keep them from fogging. A breathe deflector helps a little. I never had any luck with the anti-fog liquid you apply to the inside of the visor either. Get a heated visor, and wire up a 12 volt plug into your snowblower6 points

...........all clothes in the dryer.........ready for the next round later tonight.... Wind really whipping it up here, so most of what I cleared will be filled back in... Oh here then.............one last one from my street looking back toward the drive, gives an idea of the height of that berm, but clearing it out now is less getting dumped back into my drive when they come'round again...6 points

HA, decided I would put on a mix of snowmobile clothing (older retired gloves and jacket - new Cat boots...) and for the first time, my motorcycle helmet!! ......Well, that sort of worked, until the front shield clouded up within a minute!!! Up it went so I could see again!..........here is my little blower, all covered, but plugged in and at the ready.....6 points

I haven't heard that one before, might try it someday. My snowmobile visor is heated, so I'm usually ok there. On a motorcycle I just crack open the visor. On the race track I might make a duct tape wedge to keep the visor open slightly. It's a fine line though, you sure don't want the visor forced open while at speed, which can happen if air gets underneath it.5 points

snow seal works great....preheat your oven to the lowest temp . place your boots in oven ..after 10 minutes pull your boots out and apply snow seal..repeat this step 3-4 times your new leather riding boots Will broken in and waterproof ...5 points

That's an interesting tip Mike............ My actual snowmobile helmet has double paned windshield.. All these helmets have great ventilation, the one in the photo has actual 'defrosters' and a switchable inlet right in the chin area. Again, only good when moving!5 points

I'm getting some of this, even though mosquitos aren't on my mind with our current 8 windchill5 points

If we got 10% of that amount of snow they would shut down everything for a week. It does look nice from inside, guess I shouldn't complain that it feels cold outside with a high of 60 today and deadly low of 37 tonight.5 points

Hey there Mark/......................You know, it was only a few weeks ago that I ran the AC in my suv !!! That was the first time PERIOD that I actually ran AC in February ! Now, those temps look nice, and it won't be long before we are into the hot and humid stuff once again! Just poured another one of these on this blizzard day..5 points

Speaking of coffee, our Bunn BXB Velocity Brew coffee maker cannot brew more than 8 cups of coffee without the grounds overflowing the official Bunn filters. Some slightly larger basket filters (not Bunn) are better. Full disclosure, we use a Cuisanart burr grinder set to "fine" to grind whole bean coffee. We prefer coffee black and strong, and have found that any grind other than "fine" produces coffee that is weaker than we prefer. What do other Bunn Velocity Brew users find regarding filters and coffee strength?5 points

As long as it does not taste burned I'm good. I make it and leave it sit with the burner off and cool. I noticed when I make a cup and get distracted and come back to it room temp it seems I can taste it better ? Hot, cold or room temp, i'm good.4 points

I suppose all my FB friends are posting photos by now, maybe check on that.......I STILL have more coffee left to drink (I know most people here will not touch it after a while sitting on the burner.......BUT) I may be one of the few that like the flavor after it has 'cooked down' a bit too.... ok...........one LAST gusty - snowy wind shot out on the deck a minute ago.... Morning there Mark! Sorry about the coffee 'no plug in'...... Snow still piling up, wind also...........but 'Stella' ain't fully here yet.... Chuck, no.........those are the 4x4x8' posts for the hanging plants and the ambient deck lighting, they are anchored to the railings.. I think you have seen the summer photos... The deck is the most stought deck in our neighborhood actually. The posts that support it are all triple 2x4' into concrete, the main carrier beams are TWO sandwiched 2x10" ... Stainless steel square drive screws exclusively NO nails anywere.. It is very safe, and because it is only 6' high, we never worry. Record so far, 26 people enjoying a gathering one summer... But, thanks for the concern.........no worries as they say... Ceptor...........I would LOVE to get out the sled, but it has not run in about 9 years now.........I suppose I should pull it over and make sure the engine isn't froze ... I do change the fuel out in it on occasion.. (great occasion that is......)4 points

My snow thrower must be 20 years old, but probably has less than 100 hours. Unless I tape a note to it, I can never remember whether I changed the oil at the end of the prior season, or need to change it to start a season.4 points

Gary....good luck with that blizzard, can't believe winter will not go away.
