  1. A pair of Forte's go for $400-$500 in the Houston area.
  2. Indeed! I'm lucky in that area, my wife supports all of my hobbies. She's a keeper!
  3. I'd love to grab those RF-5's! I'm in Houston Texas though so it's not practical. Sounds like a sweet price for them, good luck with your sale!
  4. Thanks everyone, we were married almost a year ago, just now getting around to posting a pic and as you can tell it's a camera phone pic lol. Our professional pics are on a disc somewhere around here. I think she got some good pics of the cakes.
  5. I thought I gave the lady perfect detail and even sent her links and pics of my gear along with the info pages from Klipsch and Emotiva but she still messed it up a bit. Those are supposed to be RF-7 towers but oh well, the cake was very good from what I hear LOL. She could have done a better job but she got an A for effort.
  6. I think that ratio seems spot on. I just happened to luck out and have a room very close to that ratio. My room is 12x22, it allows three rows three chairs wide. I would prefer the 16x26 so they could be four chairs wide and have a fourth row in back!
  7. I ran five RF-7s for awhile and even seven RF-7s but eventually moved to RS-7s and RB-75s as side and rears. IMHO, the big towers are wasted as side surrounds and rears. You just don't get enough sound back there and my room actually sounds better now because I can mount the smaller speakers in better locations to give better coverage. In theory the same speaker all the way around is the best way to go but until they start mixing in more material, it's a waste.
  8. Welcome to the forums! I just read over your bathroom remodel thread at AVS that Youth linked to, amazing work! The tile work on the shower wall is awesome! By looking at what you did there, I have no doubt your theater will be awesome.
  9. Those look amazing! Turtles are one of my favorites so I need to try these out!
  10. I bought Sin City less than a week ago... should have waited! It should be here any day. It's on a lot of the top Blu-ray lists. I have two duplicates I'm interested in trading: Batman - The Dark Knight Crazy Heart
  11. LOL! We used to do this a lot at my house as well between the Chorus ll and RF-7s. It's funny, last night we went into the theater room to watch a movie and started poking around on Apple TV " coolest little gadget" and got side tracked listening to music for over an hour. I had forgotten how good RF-7's sounded with music. They really did sound amazing.
  12. Sasha, my miniature Schnauzer. She's super smart!
  13. This came in the mail a few days ago. It is possibly the best live music Blu-ray I have seen. The audio/video is second to none! Between this and Dave Mathews it is very close. I give the edge to this one because it's the full band playing.
  14. I think the reason audiophiles dislike Bose is because of the cheap cube systems made with $2 parts that they sold for thousands of dollars. They were ripping people off, plain and simple. The 901 was a pretty decent sounding speaker and it's not why people dislike the company.
  15. Looking at the OP's recent posts, before the two posts in this thread it had been 9 years since he last posted. I believe Youth is right, Elvis may have left the building! []
  16. I just read that the next Riddick is coming out soon. That will be awesome too! I liked the first two.
  17. This thread is funny! So I guess the question is... how much will the OP list them for!?
  18. I would have to agree that RF-7s are worth around $1000 a pair. IMHO $800 is an amazing deal and while you do see it from time to time it's more common to see them going for $1000-$1200 in good condition. A quick search on Craigslist shows most of them listed at $1000 to $1200 with one pair at $800 "probably in Florida" lol. Ebay has a pair at $1199 and someone has bid on them so they'll be selling for at least $1199.00. It is true that Florida seems to have the best deals on everything used from cars to used speakers. When I was looking for a Mercedes GL for my wife, the cars in Florida had the best prices. Luckily I found one local and didn't have to make that trip! Good luck with your sale!
  19. Iron Man 3, Star Trek into the Darkness, Man of Steel, The Wolverine, 300 Rise of an Empire. I'm sure there are more that I have not heard about yet but these are the major ones I know of that I'm really looking forward to.
  20. My wife and I were married at First Methodist in downtown Houston, they say it's the second largest pipe organ in the area. I know when we met with the organ player and went over the music he asked what kind of intro we wanted and we said the biggest one you have, the most impact. He smiled and played it and we decided we would go one notch below that, I didn't want to give the grandparents a heart attack! That thing was loud and deep, thunderous. I looked it up and it looks like what they have is a 118 rank Aeolian Skinner pipe organ. They also have a two-manual Allen Renaissance to go next to it. Very impressive for sure!
  21. What are your thoughts on the soundtrack?Very bland soundtrack. The battle scene was very small, you heard a few far off cannon shots but nothing to write home about. I expected much more from this movie actually. I thought it was going to be more like a Saving Private Ryan type film during the Civil War.
  22. We finally watched this last night, it was a good movie with solid acting, tons of popular actors in this one. We felt like it started off really slow though, took quite a while to get going IMO.
  23. I can't imagine it honestly, tonight my in-laws were over for dinner and they brought Loopers on Blu-ray. The bass was so loud and deep on my tiny little system that I had to dial it back, it was uncomfortable. That movie has insane bass! I couldn't even imagine that movie on something like what he has. It would massage your organs and not in a comfortable way. []
  24. I think that pic is just to show the subs, if you click the link you can see where they will actually be in the room.
