  1. It is a Starrett and is made that way. Anyone have any idea what it's made for.
  2. The pictures were slow to come up on mine, but the finally made it. What kind of wood are the cabinets made of. They are glowing. WOW!
  3. It's Christmas Eve, in January. Don't peek Taylor. If you peek, Santa will take it back. Here is a link so you can do some reading. The site also has an owners manual you can look at and print out. http://www.hhscott.com/integrated_amps_stereo.htm
  4. Are vertical corns those things on the side of your foot that you usually get on the bottom of your feet? You know, Horizontal corns.
  5. I like the sound of my Lascala's better without the grills. But the Wife's fussing makes it easier to hear them when they are on.
  6. Thanks for the compliments. I didn't want to do anything to them but bring out the color and protect them. They were 4 years old when I got them and the wood was dry and dull with dirty hand prints and a few scuffs. My brother in law told me the rule with applying boiled Linseed oil is, "Once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year, and once a year for life. I have only put about 8 coats on mine after a light hand sanding but they glow from deeper down in the wood with each additional coat. I will apply more coats in the spring with a light steel wool smoothing and a tack cloth dusting between each coat. I will probably only steel wool and dust once each weekend and put on 2 coats on Sat. so they can air out before I bring them back in on Sunday. The better half doesn't care for the smell. BTW, DaddyDee, I wanted mine unfinished so I could do them myself. If they were finished and happened to be just what I wanted, I would have bought them anyway but if they were wrong, I would have passed.
  7. Could be something as simple as a wire shaking loose during shipment. I know you're bummed. I would be too. At least you know they will make it good.
  8. In this same forum. Rw-12=needs help. It worked.
  9. Try what was suggested for the RSW12. Switch the auto/on switch a few times. I bought a new car once and after dark headed home with it. It only had high beams and no low beams. Took it to the dealer and the tech stomped on the floor switch a few times and it never messed up again. The grease they packed in during assembly was keeping the switch from making contact.
  10. DaddyDee, here is a pic of my 99's. One has one coat of Boiled linseed oil mixed with, I think, two parts mineral spirits. It sure brings the color and reflectance out of the wood. The other hasn't been sanded. As far as the finish, The linseed oil is super easy to apply. You just have to be careful with the waste rags. They will self ignite.
  11. I noticed that about the tags and wondered the same thing. As far as the crossover, isn't the AL-4 only used in the KHorn? I thought the Lascala's still used the AL-3.
  12. I think he is talking about these guys. http://tinyurl.com/3flrm
  13. I suggest that if Taylor really wants the 299c/d, one of us could try to pick up the bid on the LK72 on Ebay and let Taylor pay what he has saved up. The rest of us could take up the slack and I for one would pitch in $10. Someone with sniping ability could do the buying. What do you all think? Remember when you were 13?

  15. Double sided sticky tape or that new stuff made for hanging pictures on the wall without making a hole.
  16. Word the warranty to not include tubes or any amp that isn't still in its original configuration. Take pictures of each amp made and keep them in a file for reference. Indicate it on the warranty.
  17. Price em like you need to! One up the other guys with a Transferable Lifetime warranty. You are the difference. If they sound and look as good as you want them to, stand behind them proudly regardless of the cost. Who knows, someday, I will be able to say, I knew him way back when----

  20. The link he gave on Ebay is also a forum member and I have a pair of his diaphrams in my Lascala's. They sound great.
  21. The C has all the inputs and tone controls you need. So does the B. So what do you need a pre for?
  22. The fine folk at Klipsch sent me a photocopy for free. I think I just emailed from the website. They were in the process of getting new ones printed so they only had photocopies for me.
