  1. Mark my words, You are not headed straight to the snowball melting place, but you will end up there soon after the furniturewallpaperpaintflooringlightingfabric store.:-)
  2. As far as the typo's go, it is kinda like good music. Who cares how it gets there, as long as it sounds good.
  3. The car stereo would have been MUCH cheaper. You are in trouble now. It's kinda like sound gear. One change demands about 20 more. Let us know what you want for your gear that has to be sold for the new decor.

  5. Fini, If you would hook up the red wires behind the left speaker, it might sound a little better!
  6. Is "oursource" supposed to be "outsource" in the pop-up text next to the shrimp?
  7. Thanks for the link. I have downloaded it and it is great. As to your frustration with the forum, get over it. There is no way you can put a group of people together without one or two being a$$hole's. The thing to remember is that what comes out of them stinks and is considered waste. Let it go down a pipe and forget about it. There are still a lot of good people on the forum and a lot of knowledge out there to be gained. If you leave, we all lose, you included.
  8. I contacted customer support from the Klipsch website and asked for manuals for my new/old Lascala's. They made a copy of the originals and sent them to me at no cost. They are in the process of having new ones printed but rather than make me wait, sent the copied ones instead.
  9. Man, did you just jab the hornets nest with a stick. Interest? Hehe. Good luck. Wish I hadn't just bought a pair of lascala's.
  10. My helper turned the two AC pots while we were adjusting the bias. Where do I check them and what should they be set on?
  11. I am still confused. Question 1. Is it bi-wiring when you run 2 leads to the speakers, One for the lows and one for the highs, both from the same source? Question 2. Is it bi-amping when you use two amps, one for the lows and one for the highs? Question 3. Is a bi-amped speaker also bi-wired by default?
  12. I got an email from a nice lady at Klipsch today and she said that she had some things in the mail to me re:my "new" 1999 Lascala's. I guess I sent the first request to the wrong place or the ball simply got dropped. Humans are Human. I suppose I owe Klipsch an apology. I hope they accept.
  13. Thanks Trey, I know I love the sound. First Klipsh speakers I have listened to since 1973. I will just hang out here on the forum and keep my eyes/ears open and see what I can learn. It would be neat if the website had a chronological listing for each speaker as to changes made over the years. Something more than "1963-" Thanks for the reply. Nice to know someone in the company is human and paying attention.
  14. I emailed Klipsch about a week and a half ago, asking for an owners manual for my "new to me" 99' Lascala's. I haven't seen a book and have not received a reply either. Am I asking too much?
  15. Newbyness showing here. I thought when you bi-wire, you are bi-amping also. What is the advantage of two wires, one to the woofer and one to the mids and highs if they start at the same place? Will one heavy wire not do the same thing? I am confused.
  16. If they were mine, I would not even think about refinishing them. I would get two stickers from the store for $7.99 and put them on the speakers as a conversation starter.
  17. I asked it on the two channel forum and felt like I had offended someone. No replies and only 6 people even bothered to read it. Two of those may have been when I checked it to see if I said something I shouldn't have. So here goes again. I just got a pair of 99 model Lascala's and I haven't seen anything on the site about them or the AL3 crossovers. Are they OK, junk, improvable, hopeless, excellent or what? Just curious. Maybe I have the only pair of AL3's produced.
  18. How do you get them to stick to the side wall like that?
  19. I did a search but couldn't find anything. I love the way my Lascala's sound but why leave well enough alone? Anything besides the x-overs that could use massaging?
  20. They are a large reputable company. Can't imagine why they would want your ss#. I don't remember giving them mine. But my memory is as short as my nevermind.
  21. One thing I should add to the instructions is to take a piece of tape folded backwards onto itself a few times, to make it thick, pointy, and sticky on the outside, so you can run it around in the groove of the magnet to pick up any loose bits of metal. I had two or three slivers in my magnets which could have been what ate my diagphrams up in the first place.
  22. I am a Snap-On tool dealer and I received a catalog today from a tool supplier (MSC) and thought about you guys when I got to page nine. 18"x24" black granite slabs 3" thick that weight 160 pounds. They are on sale at 79.99 plus shipping by truck. From Atlanta (one of their warehouses) shipping and everyting else would run about $70 to my home in North Louisana for a total cost of about $150. Their number is 1-800-645-7270. The part number is PZ00150037. Regular price is $164.07 before shipping. They have warehouses in Penn., Nevada, Atlanta, and one other that I can't remember, Ohio maybe? If you are looking for a turntable base or even shelves for a one of a kind shelving unit, give them a call.
