  1. I don't have Khorns (any longer) but I am using five La Scala's and have been playing with different subwoofer options. I had a RSW-12 and wanted more! What I have now is more than enough, even for a basshead like me! Hopefully my picture works... I have settled on using one SVS CS Ultra for the low bass in theater and a pair of Yorkville 18" bass bins, you can see I have the SVS in the corner and the left and right La Scala sit on the Yorkville's. I have a pair of the CS Ultra right now and they provide plenty of room filling bass, blending very nicely with the La Scala (my room is very large and, SVS alone it takes two). The Yorkville provide a more chest pounding (less natural I am sure but I like it) bass for music but can not get low enough for movies. I have it set up so that the Yorkville are an extension of the left and right and the SVS is running on the .1 channel. I would love to keep the second CS Ultra but can not see the dollar/value for me with the Yorkville's. This combination adds enough (and then some) bottom end to my five LaScala set up. I would say that two SVS CS Ultra's with sufficient power are a great match for a large Klipsch Heritage set up, even in a big open room (mine is about as big as they get, high ceiling split level house), with less space I think one would be great.
  2. I agree Klipsch needs to (should) build a sub worthy of Heritage speakers. I had a RSW-12, sounded great but not enough output or low enough to match. No desire to try the RSW-15 after owning a 12 and reading specs on a 15. I did not want to go away from Klipsch but have had to. Comment on the KPT 684: I did try the Klipsch Pro Cinema KPT-684 (2 18") in my house, I have a very large living room, 20' ceiling and 17' x 70' floor space. It is hard to fill with bass, the KPT 684 was too large (physically too), had to stand in the back of the room to get the full effect. It was very clean and powerfull in the mid-bass region but did not go near low enough. For a movie I preferred the RSW-12. I want something to fill out my 5 La Scala for music and movies. Right now for music I am using a pair of Pro subs, Yorkville Elite SW800 18", great blend for music but also not low enough for movie watching. I am looking for the right sub... Acoustic Visions, SVS, REL, Velodyne? Not sure yet but it won't be Klipsch unless? I like the heritage line sub idea! Josh
  3. I put spikes on a pair of Cornwall's, pic for fun. The sound was improved a lot over having them on the carpet, better bass response. I also have Cornwall's on factory risers which also sound great, not sure which I like better, but spikes were a big improvement over no risers on carpet. I had been wondering about La Scala's on spikes?
  4. Ahhhh, I have the room but not the dough Those look amazing. Have to settle for La Scala's I watch Ebay a lot and there really are so many nice heritage there now... Industrial too, there have been two pair of Industrial La Scala this week, one with a pro sub no one ever bid on, pick up only in NY. The pair up there now is nice and clean. Guess it is not the best time to post what I have to sell. Too bad it is so expensive to ship heritage...
  5. Know this post was a while ago but are you looking to sell a pair of K 43 woofers?
  6. I have two pair of two piece Pro La Scala. I have decided to use one as a center channel. I will now have two piece La Scala's for front and center (you can see how I have the mid/high cabinet elevated in the pic). I like the two piece La Scala and the ability to mount them in many different ways. With the center I will mount the mid/high cabinet over the screen and the bass bin on the floor below. Anyone out there interested in the other one? There is a lot of discussion in the forums about the vertical Cornwall's which makes me want to play with the two piece La Scala, trying out both vertical and horizontal placement for the mid/high cabinet front and center. Anyone else out there interested in a two piece La Scala for their center channel in an all heritage home theater? I hate to break up a pair but imagine someone else would appreciate it and I figure I will use my single one for a long time! The Pro La Scala are rated at 200 watts and have better woofers than the home La Scala's. 7. Check out the begginning of Sexy Beast, when the boulder comes down the mountain... I have tested a number of subs with it. The RSW-12 handeled it the best...

  9. Where are you located? I have Cornwall's (2 great pair) to sell, a friend may have a nice pair of Forte II. I would agree with the other responses to Ebay, just do your research... Let me know if you are in California I will tell you more about the ones I have. Josh
  10. I would agree on not modifying the Pro speakers, better off selling them and getting Heresy II's. You will not end up with the same sound or resale value. Better to go with what the pro's build. Josh
  11. 1. What Heritage speakers have you owned, currently own, or want to own? The quick version: 4 pair of Heresy I 2 pair of Cornwall I 3 pair of La Scala 1 pair of Klipschorns, 1 single Belle And the longer version, the set up: I bought my first Heresys when I owned a pair of KG2s, at the time when I started to set up my home theater I picked up a KV3 and a Denon receiver. I used this set up for five or six years until I moved into a place I couldnt use it time to sell it all. Less than a year later time to build again. I got a pair of Forte IIs, not planning on a surround sound set up I picked up an Adcom amp and pre-amp. It was not long before I saw a pair of Klipschorn and a Belle posted in a local classifieds, Klipschorns were a dream since I sold them at a hi-fi shop. This was the beginning of the speaker madness at my house the last few years. It may stabilize soon, well see. I couldnt resist the Klipschorns, I sold the Forte IIs and moved into surround sound, I was amazed with Belle as a center channel (another Denon receiver). The rest of the speakers were trades or purchases, I checked out some of the models I had wanted for years, listened to the whole Heritage line and figured out what I liked the most, moved, had to re-adjust and have now settled... Yeh right! I currently am using 2 pair of Pro La Scala (two piece so I can hang the mid/high cabinets at the top of my screen and angle them) for front and rear and a Pro Heresy with a 15 pro woofer in line for the center channel. I have yet to let go of many of the pairs I am not using (two pair of Cornwall and a pair of La Scala lined up by the wall in the living room). 2. What was your age when you first purchased a Heritage series loudspeaker? 21 or 22, original Heresy, sold them to a friend a few years ago. 3. What is your current age? 29 4. Why did you choose Heritage loudspeakers over another Klipsch model? Sound quality, other speakers do not sound as natural and dynamic to me, ability to handle all kinds of music. Everyones ear is different, I like the sound of the horns, I sold Klipsch speakers (Heritage and original KG series) when I was a teenager. 5. If you currently own some Heritage loudspeakers, and could purchase some more Klipsch speakers(new or used), which ones would you purchase? Why? For now in my house the Professional Klipsch is what I like (for a number of reasons), I have switched to all Pro versions of the La Scala (front and rear) I would like a single two piece Pro La Scala for the center. I love the Cornwall and would buy them again when not using Pros 6. Do you think the upcoming Jubilee should become part of the "Heritage" line, since it was also designed by PWK? Dont have much opinion there, dont know what the definition of Heritage is supposed to be, I have thought of it as the classic lines that have remained alive due to their
  12. Thank you all for your replies, opinions and gear offers. I do like the Adcom I am using, as some pointed out it does not offer enough inputs... I just bought another one on Audiogon for a good price, with mine less $ than a sufficient Monster Power model. I think this should do nicely, I will have 14 outlets with 4 for amps and double the timed plugs too. I should have ample protection and control. I would love to compare sound to other brands, maybe another time. Thanks, Josh

  14. I was also thinking of splitting the mid/high cabinet and low end cabinets for center channel... I have La Scala's as front and rear (both are two piece Industrial/Pro models). In the front I have my La Scala Pro's on top of a pair of 18" Yorkville subs, this leaves my squawker and tweeter at ear height and was too intense when walking by the speakers at high volume. Since the La Scala Pro's I have are two piece I put the top cabinet on 3 - 1 3/8" dowels bolted to the bass bins, the dowels are about 18" in the front and about 20" in the back, they are at about a 5 degree angle down. The mid/highs are even with the top of my projection screen and sound amazing, great dispersion throughout my room which is 17' x 70'. I am looking for another La Scala Pro (or pair) to use for the center (currently using a KP-201 (Heresy Pro) with a Professional 15" sub to create a larger sound). My ideal is to use a two piece La Scala and have the bass bin below the screen and the top mid/high flown above the center of the screen at an angle. I love seeing all the other full heritage theater systems! 15. Hey all, I am looking for opinions on power conditioning. I am using an Adcom ACE 515 right now and feel I can probably get something (used probably) for another couple hundred that will match my system better. I mostly see the Monster Power stuff out there and read a lot of reviewers who do not like them. Recomendations on how large of one to get? I am running: Adcom GFA 5503 (200 x 3) Adcom GFA 555 (200 x 2) Adcom GFA 555 Pro (200 x 2) for power amps and the rest of the equipment is B&K AVP3090 pre-amp BBE 362SW sonic maximizer JVC XV-SA75GD Klipsch La Scala Pro (front) Klipsch La Scala Pro (rear) Klipsch KP 201 (pro Heresy) with Klipsch KP 115 (15" sub) (center) Yorkville Elite SW 800 (pair) 18" subs and of course the Adcom ACE 515 I am not sure but think I am probably running too much power for my ACE 515. I will say no more and see what you all have to say about power conditioning and protection. Thanks, Josh
