  1. Skon-if you are going heavy, then put The Sword in there. New one out a couple of weeks ago, and the first one is really good, too.
  2. I almost forgot, another must buy that I may even put ahead of Attack and Release-The Raconteurs-Consolers of the Lonely. This is Jack White of the White Stripes full band side project. Again, rock/blues lovers rejoice. Album (yes I think on vinyl too?) of the year. Get it today. Don't wait. You can thank me later.
  3. The Black Keys are my favorite. I just got to see them at the Riveria Theater in Chicago and somehow it exceeded my expectations. They were also recently on David Letterman-you can youtube it to see it. This is rock/blues at it's finest. Go back and check out their older albums, too. They rock. TBK loyalists are actually a little up in arms over the new one. A little too "produced" as compared to the older stuff for some. Also released on vinyl for those of you in need of some fresh vinyl.
  4. Live at Pompeii was always my favorite. I don't own the new director's cut, though. Anybody have it and care to comment on the quality? I hear the Dolby Digital 2.0 on the original is stunning.
  5. I heard Claude Lemieux was supposed to be part of the Foote deal, but they couldn't find him.............
  6. It's worth it as long as the CD recording quality is good. They should tell us, though, if the CD quality sucks and then I wouldn't waste my time. Maybe "engineered for MP3 players" would be enough to let us know to just go ahead and pull the itunes trigger? Conversely, it could help a CD's marketing if they were able to advertise engineered with something other than MP3 players in mind. Selection is getting to be an issue at Best Buy. There have been a few occasions lately where I find something I want on itunes, go to Best Buy to get it, and they don't have it. Two CD's to check out that I just got-the new Raconteurs (Jack White's side project), and the new Gnarls Barkley. Both outstanding start to finish with much diversity throughout. New Black Keys due out Tuesday. I just can't seem to get into the new Jack Johnson despite much love for the previous releases.
  7. Never been to Denver. I have always been a Sakic and Forsberg fan. Also, any team that is so hated in Detroit can't be all bad.
  8. Since my Hawks are out again (wait till next year when those kids are a year older), looks like I will be jumping on the Avalanche bandwagon again. Check out that Forsberg, Hejduk, Stastny line. They looked dominant last night against the Canucks.
  9. I will second(third?) what is said previously. I have the first generation of the device and it has worked great. I have also recorded stuff off of the tivo onto it and it is currently hooked up to my computer for an extra burner drive.
  10. I think that is the one. I have never tried monoprice customer support, but it may be worth a call. It has to be it, though, as they specifically mention Infocus. I would call first.
  11. I've gone to a piece off of a cotton ball in each ear for shows. I have been exploring every little venue in Chicago I can find, and sometimes it's really loud in there. I have also used a little napkin in each ear when I forget the cotton ball. The cotton works great, though. I find not only does it protect my ears, but it also seems like I can hear the music better and I can understand what my buddies are screaming in my ears during the show better, too.
  12. I think you are going to need male to male. Good catch on the M1. It took me two tries thinking it was just a regular DVI. I also ran into my dvd player and my Directv receiver thinking my screenplay 5000 was not a compliant device resulting in another cable purchase. Had to connect the projector to a computer to update the firmware. Check ebay for cable. I got a 50' HDMI to M1 for I think $80. Good cable. No issues even at that length.
  13. I have to respectfully disagree on this one Michael. Put in your favorite concert DVD and crank it up!!!!!! Your ears will bleed before that quality Klipsch manufacturing gives out. []

    Reviews!

I got the c1's for Christmas and I really like them. I do not use headphones much, so I did not feel ready to take it too deep. I was using just the crappy ipod ones so these are a nice upgrade. I like how you are totally isolated without having to have them powered in some way like some of the other noise cancelling earphones. I would say they are typical Klipsch-even the lower level products are of a very high quality.
  15. Bill-where you at? Not many people would be familiar with Broadview. I am in La Grange Park. Dean
  16. I bought and installed that new in ceiling model Klipsch just came out with about 20 years ago- the KG1. Are they ideal? Probably not, but they are more than fine for our "upstairs" or living room system. They stick out of the ceiling about 2 inches so I put a little quarter round on them to trim them up and they look fine(even better when I get around to putting the white grill fabric on them that I purchased).
  17. Guitar Hero sounds pretty good. Especially 3 on the Wii. Your misses don't come through the speaker, only through the "guitar."
  18. I don't mean to be an alarmist, but could this be a blown woofer? Try giving them each a gentle push in and see if hear anything you don't like. You can also try and determine if it is coming out of just one of them, or if it is both.
  19. that looks interesting, and its a much lower price, which is always good have any experience with that amp, or have you heard much about it? I have not. I think a well built Dynaco gets good reviews, so I am assuming this would be as good or better. Also, if you have it built and shipped it won't end being that much cheaper. Anybody else out there with thoughts?
  20. How about this one? http://store.triodestore.com/st70buildkit.html I called them and they indicated you could also go KT88 with this and they would build it for me if I could wait.
  21. Credit to whoever put this up, hilarious!! But, [bs]
  22. Dont' toss those KGs out just yet. I think you may like them. Get the best sub you can budget for and HT receiver too and you should be happy for a while. I have always been partial to Yamaha myself. Even the KV2 which does not get a lot of love around here I have found to be quite nice in my upstairs set up.
  23. I have not. I think descriptions are available though?
  24. EL34 vs. KT88? I too am starting to head in the tube direction and have been looking at the 502. I was lead to believe through research(no listening yet) that for Rock and bass, go with the KT88 based system. Although Corns are certainly efficient enough to work well with either, my listening tastes were taking me toward the KT88. Any thoughts from those of you who have heard both?
