  1. Would love to, but it’s too far and I’m too tired!
  2. ^This. Since you are repairing the house, make a better room. Buy the amp later.
  3. The Klipschorn and La Scala use Atlas midrange drivers (PD5-VH) and Celestion tweeters. Eminence for the K-33 woofer. Cornwall IV and Forte IV use Celestion midrange and tweeters. Woofers by Eminence. Model numbers written down for the Celestion drivers somewhere - I can’t remember where I put them.
  4. Just wanted to say that all of you Epic owners are losers, lol.
  5. You get a 4 meter cord and a 2 meter extension. That’s almost 20 feet - so figure 12 feet apart to account for slack. That’s plenty for most people. You only need one power receptacle. Most speaker stands allow for tucking cables into them. I personally have no issue with wires showing. If I could be convinced that the plate amp wouldn’t die a week after the warranty period expires - I would order them today.
  6. They should have a separate customer support section for Heritage owners - and an online store for most requested items. They are trying to operate like the small company they used to be while now controlling 35% of the loudspeaker market. The site seems cobbled together. I wish they would fix it. A lot of people don’t even know how to find customer support.

  8. It won’t hurt anything, but you may not like what you hear.
  9. I do. If you change your mind and don’t want it, you could probably sell that one good woofer for more than you paid for the whole cabinet.
  10. @David s Both networks are undoubtably Type B. If you are interested in having me do this work, please email me at: dgwescott@gmail.com
  11. Will also buckle if driven too hard. Buy, and start looking for another RC-7 that you can cannibalize. I’ve never understood how this supposedly doesn’t affect the sound.
  12. There is nothing coming in that measures egregious, yet everyone is reporting improvement. I haven’t had anyone tell me that it sounds the same.
  13. Cut the wires near the capacitors, where they are soldered. Remove the capacitors. Use USPS medium flat rate box. Wrap each network in some decent bubble wrap - enough to provide some actual padding. Sit one in the box. Take the other, turn it upside down, and place on top of the other network. They are pretty robust. Tape box well and ship to: Dean Wescott 933 E Stroop Rd Kettering, Ohio, 45429 Use email I provide for PayPal, or toss personal check or money order in the box.

  15. Old like me. Build something new.
  16. I charge $175 to do those, which includes parts, labor, and return shipping. dgwescott@gmail.com
  17. People have been running the Cornwall with single ended amps for 50 years without issue.
  18. It would appear JEM and me are not on the same page here. The vocals are recessed because the midrange is attenuated too much. I would have had you move to the AK network. You will need to compare the AK and AK-3 schematics to understand why I do this. It also means not having to change the film caps in the bass bin - which I’m sure are perfectly fine for what they’re expected to do.
  19. I would leave them alone. Those are all film caps. The small motor runs are fully protected, and I haven’t measured a bad one yet. Edit: Caveat on the small motor runs. These are also used in later model Klipschorns and La Scalas, and I haven’t measured any of those yet. I’ve always wondered about those because of the extreme heat they were exposed to while soldering on that Monster Cable.
  20. Your AA La Scalas will need walls and/or corners to bring the bass up. They won’t sound very good in free space. The AL midrange is down an additional 3dB, which is why they sound “fuller” than your AA versions. I think I’m the only flamer left and I’m about out of gas. Don’t be a stranger.
  21. Should maybe start PM’ing these as links to people instead of bumping them. Just a suggestion.
