  1. I have the first dvd and have really enjoyed it (although it's been quite some time). On the first one there was a group called the "__________ family band;" were they on the second one as well? David Robert Randolph and the Family Band...............I don't think so but when I get home I'll check. I only watched about 3/4 of the new one. Robert Randolph is excellent ! Got to see him live here last year . If he comes to your town don't miss it , unless you don't like that sort of thing . Robert Randolph, that's it! Thanks. He was one of my favorites on the first dvd. I imagine the show was very entertaining as the guy just has that special "feel" for the crowd.

  3. Besides Klipsch, I would listen to a pair of VMPS RM-40s or the Elixirs. Both sound exceptional, IMHO.
  4. Get 'em ..........they're HOT!!!
  5. True enough, although you could probably replace your HD wire a few times for what you may pay for Monster up front. Just MHO.
  6. Congratulations, Glenn! That is quite an accomplishment! I wish you and Verna the best as you celebrate this awesome milestone!!! Are you doing anything special to celebrate?
  7. Roger-I agree with your entire post, especially the section highlighted above. One track really stands out in my mind as being just placed entirely wrong. That is Hotel California by the Eagles. The sound from the trumpet at the beginning of the track is coming from directly behind me while I am watching him onscreen. Weird. I had a HD cable box for a while and couldn't see any difference between the regular cable channels and the HD channels so I returned it (the regular cable channels didn't even look very good.) This was from Charter, not Comcast.
  8. Good point. I think this pic was taken after I was doing some of the final sanding and it appears that I wasn't wearing a mask. I don't have a respirator but was wearing one of those paper masks that seemed to do an okay job. I would more often put my sweatshirt on the bridge of my nose which worked out even better.
  9. Now that is a wall of sound! Very nice!
  10. Alright fellas, time to show us what you got! I know that many of us love to get dirty on the weekends and some of us even relish being grubby all week long. So post your pics right here. Let it all hang out! A few rules: You must be in the picture; the dirtier the better Keep it clean (you know what I mean, don't get the thread deleted) Please, for the love of life, NO BIKINI PICS!!!! (I am still scarred after seeing some of the pics posted on this forum) Have fun & keep 'em comin'!!! To start things off here's a picture of me last winter as I was doing some drywall sanding in the basement. I have no idea where my lips went...
  11. Good to see you around, Scoot! The height/positioning of the center speaker makes a HUGE difference in the sound of a system. I found this out when I moved my center speaker off of the floor and onto a small children's table (we're not done w/the theater yet so making do) that is closer to head level. Wow, the difference was dramatic. Your room looks great! BTW, do you have the capability to toe your center speaker up/down to get it dialed in just right?
  12. Thanks, I thought that was what you meant. Dealer had another unit just like mine in for the exact same issue.
  13. I'm not sure how to read that, speakerfritz. Is it that good, or are you being sarcastic?
  14. That's what I do. Outlaw 7500 - 5x200 & QSC pro - 2x425. Sunfire signature offers 7 x 400 I believe.I don't know that you need all that power but some extra headroom is certainly beneficial. Arky-Did you compare the Outlaw at 200wpc and the QSC at 425wpc when you had your RF-7s?
  15. Last night I went downstairs and tried to power up my projector to no avail. I thought it was the remote and walked over to the unit and hit the power button that's on the actual projector, still no luck. I had power indicated on the front panel of my Monster Signature HTS5100 so I thought that perhaps the unit needed to be reset. Well, I pulled my rack away from the wall and hit the reset.....still nothing. This was really stumping me as I could see both the voltage and amperage indicators lit up on the front panel of the unit but no power was being sent out to anything in my rack. Weird. So to the point... I contacted my dealer who asked me to bring the unit in. I figured that they would have to ship the unit to Monster to get it repaired and estimated being without it for at least a couple of weeks. Much to my surprise, he made a phone call to Monster and I walked out with a brand new unit. I must say, I'm impressed. I just wanted to give Monster some kudos as they are certainly well deserved. http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=2303
  16. A real class-act and a scholar. He will definitely be missed.
  17. Stunning work, Michael! That sub is a beast!!! I love the red paint, great choice.
  18. Duke - I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Was the house entirely in her name? (If so, I'm wondering why she transferred it). Get a lawyer, if you haven't already. Best wishes.
  19. The best deal out there (for average mileage drivers) would be a 3-5 year old vehicle. You'd be surprised at what is available if you take the time to shop around. Used cars with less than 40k miles on them are not uncommon, someone else depreciated it for you and they generally do not require any major repairs. My recent vehicle history: '97 Buick Riviera purchased in 2000 (from a dealer) with 38k miles for $13500 (sticker was around $35k). Sold in 2003 for $7750 no major repairs. 2000 Lincoln LS purchased in 2003 (autotrader.com) with 32k miles for $16k (sticker was around $37k). Just listed for sale and should go for somewhere in the $7k range with no major repairs. 2000 Lexus LS400 purchased in 2007 (after ebay listing expired) with 63k miles for $16k (sticker was around $55k). Should depreciate less than the previous two. IMHO and all that jazz

I have not. Maybe that's it...
  21. Dee-sent the link to a friend of my mom's (around age 65). She called me trying to figure out how to play the game because she kept losing. []

    Call of Duty 4

I have been unable to get the network to accept any variation of a name and have therefore been unable to get online. Has anyone else had any hiccups getting online?

    Call of Duty 4

I'm running it through an Infocus SP7205 and a 93" screen. Looks awesome!
