  1. I have a PS 1000 v3. I like it but often wonder if there is not better and at what price am I willing to go. So I think about it and then forget it. I want to find a friend that has something different so I can compare.
  2. Well, they need the huts! One of my most vivid images was the number of people I saw having sex out in the opem in Munich (sp) during Octoberfest. I could not believe it and everyone who lived there was like, it's no big deal.
  3. Well, I would look at it this way. Do I want something that big if I am only going to be at a 10 foot throw distance. If you look at the cost of a NEW say Infocus 4805 - 1000 bucks, with warrenty and smaller package. 2000 plus hours on the lamp with a replacement cost of 300 bucks. Now what are going to be your maintenance cost on those monsters? Does look like it would be fun to mess with.
  4. You do not hear a lot about McIntosh around here. How come? We have a high end dealer in town but sometimes I get the impression that inless you are arriving in a limo they do not want to talk to you. They REALLY PUSH Paradigm for their lown end equipment, but have listening rooms set up that arre the price of a car.
  5. I was recently introduced to the website www.chessworld.net, if anyone even occasionally enjoys a game of chess this is a pretty neat site. I have not joined and therefore can only play 5 games at a time. My brother on the other hand has joined and I think currently has 65 games going. I never called myself a chess player but I think I am getting better. A couple of the right games came along that really allowed me to concentrate on offense. Anyway, I just thought I would pass the info along.
  6. And Father's day is just around the corner!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I will be asking for this and Crossroads.
  7. So are you buying the new DVD for what is basically two new songs or are you going to just hold on to HFO. I have not decided yet.
  8. Woo Hoo, I just brought the "Big Screen" home. I guess I should have taken a picture, you would have gotten a kick out of seeing a 4' x 8' sheet of 1/2 MDF in the back seat of a Seabring (sp), with the top down of course. Good thing I only had to drive about a mile. Screen size will actually be 44 inches by 78.25 inches for a whopping 89.77 inch diagaonal. Shootin for the 10th or 11th to be opening night.
  9. Gary that is so cool, I hope I get that kind of reaction from my neighbors. The sound should be a lot better than the hopped up camero with pipes. I am suprised the wood screws were not included, that would have ticked me off because I have not wood screws at the house and when I got some they would probably be the wrong size and mess something up. I have been thinking about putting risers on mine, what size wood screw did you use?
  10. No, I know "there is a hole in the world tonight" after they showed that the DVD would be released I went to search the song titles. There are two new ones listed, short term memory problem has already made me forget the titles, something with "cloud" in the title. When was HFO released? Makes me feel old because a couple of those boys sure have aged since then.
  11. what song was right before "hotel california"? I do not know if the DVD will compare to HFO. I think I will have to find someone that has it before I purchase it, course I could just ask for it for fathers day. They put those two new songs on the thing just to make you want to get the thing
  12. Amy it is funny you mention Sandlot. I have to routinely go into the neighbors yard to retrieve stuff because the kids are afraid of the dog. Made me think of that movie on several occasions. I thought about doing a Star wars marathon sleep over for the kids but the neighbors might not like slashing light sabers at three in the morning, course I doubt any of the kids (or adults) would last that long either.
  13. I thought about finding Nemo or Lion King. Those are pretty good and have good sound tracks, Plus I can easily get a poster of either. I am not sure how late we will have to wait. I have not experimented yet, since I am still waiting on the cables. Maybe "The aviator"
  14. Okay, I will attach a picture when we are ready but I am about two weeks out from our first showing at "MANDI'S OUTDOOR THEATRE" So, if you were to pick a movie for premier night what would it be? This will be for kids and adults. Kids are 9 to 14, adults are 25 to 50, but all adults act like kids.
  15. neighborhood yard sale this weekend. The bike is ready and oiled. I am so much hoping I come upon something.
  16. I knew a guy that built an airplane in his basement and he honestly said he did not think about how he was going to move it once it was built. I also know of a guy who needs to do an ad for ATLAS model trains, he has a HUGE layout and then has almost every car Atlas has produced displayed on all the walls (thousands, of cars) That is another cool hobby that I really do admire. I built a pretty neat 3' by 5' n scale layout. Opps, sorry I got off track,,,,,,,,,hehehehe
  17. an OLD kenwood RCV, a Scott 299B(that still needs to be sent off to be checked) and a pair of Heresys. Bose 101's on the back deck, unless it is nice enough to pull the Heresys out (have have wire ran from them and stands made as well). I want a new CD player and if I ever get one the Fisher will get moved to the Garage.
  18. I want to purchase a projector. It will serve a dual purpose. I will use it in the classroom and I also want to occasionally show a movie Outside (more of a novalty thing than anything, but I want the picture to be decent). I want to spend less than 1500 and would prefer it to be closer to 1k. I have looked at the Infocus X3 and the Toshiba TDP - T90U. Both do 2000:1 contrast ration Both do 1024 x 768 Both do 16:9 Aspect ratio Both will give me the screen size I want LUMENS Toshiba - 2200 Infocus - 1600 Toshiba - $1400 Infocus - $1100 Is the difference in the lumens worth 300 bucks Lamp life - Toshiba - 2000 hours, new lamp - 360 Infocus - 4000 hours, new lamp - 299 So the 600 lumens are really starting to cost me, what would the images look like side by side. I know there may not be many if any that have seen both of these but I figured I would throw it out. Thanks
  19. I really want one but at the price they are going for I am going to have to do a side by side to see if my ears will justify the cost. Do any places let you do take home demos?
  20. After further and close reading, do you think there are really a PAIR, I think it may be a single with some convenient typos. The seller also has a single floor monitor heresy with the same pink paintjob. How did the questions to the seller go away?
  21. So what is the magical hour going to be? Are folks sitting just waiting to call?
  22. Yes, I have put several hints in that I would like to make a trade with Gilbert for a pair of his ind. Heresys. They are sweet and would go well in the outdoor theatre (they would not stay outside). But he has never seen one of my hints or has just kindly kept silent. PS, I am shuffling kids around the first of July, Arkansas to Savannah, if anyone needs some totin done and it is not a hassle to arrange, you can keep that in mind when you are looking at sales.
  23. with what you paid for these and what it will take to fix, I know of a pair right now that you can get for 350. An add ran in our paper last week and they wanted 450 for a pair of heresys. They did not get it and I am sure they would sell them for 350. you pay the shipping and I will get them to you, I know you want pictures. I will see what I can do.
  24. Well, my neighbor asked me if I knew anything about hooking up speakers. I laughed and told him I did. My wife laughed and told him he needed to come inside and have a look. It is a shame, our kids play together but we never do anything together so; no, he had never seen my setup. He was given a Bose 5.1 system and had all the speakers lined up on a shelf above his TV. I told him that would not do and we proceeded to his attic. After about 5 minutes in the attic I realized that my place would be below and told him where we would be running all the wires. We headed off to BB, he had never been, and picked up some wire. Well, four hours later and he now has fronts and rears hanging from the ceiling, looking good if I do say so myself. It was fun, I wish we would have been hooking up horns. I guess we have to get started on something. I was so tempted to offer to let him borrow my Cornwalls. Well, I am now off to finish my project.
