  1. i agree with what you said,i don t know why you get on nerves like this.i don t speak very well english, that s probably why you didn t agree with me.
  2. i just said that rs are designed for surroud movie channel. so if dneilan1 use his system only for HT, rs should be enough. of course with rf you don t need a sub, they reproduce a very wide range of frequencies. i agree with bbb and you on this point.
  3. rf for surround...why not but it s more for listenning to multichannel record like sacd.rf are quiet direct speakers, surround sound in movies should be widespread. with a full rf home theatre there s only one place were the sound will be perfect so if you want to watch a film with your familly you should choose your seat using rs allow you to enjoy a movie at several places. but your setup is perfect for one person.
  4. if your main speakers go quiet deep you should leave them set to large. the sub parameters on your receiver are quiet important to. there are 3 mains options:no sub, both, sub only. it determines where the bass channel of a multichannel record goes. with both it goes on mains and on the sub if mains are set to large. you should test each option to see wich one match to your ears.
  5. if you set your new rear on the sides of your home theatre i think you should buy some RS7. if you set them on the back wall of your home theatre you can try 2 RC7 or 2 RB 75. but for a 7.1 system you should have a large room.
  6. it may be a kind of prototype of a concurent of klipsch for a cornwall speaker.they still have a lot of work to do
  7. if it s a klipsch i don t know paul use to make corner tables
  8. you can go for a yamaha/klipsch HT. even if my is a small one(i haven t got a lot of money to spend in my HT so i have to be reasonable) it sounds great for the money i spent. if the cheapest yam receivers sounds good the expansive one should sound good too at least;-)
  9. it might be the wires running from the crossover to the speaker... you can open your speaker to check if the crossover or the wires looks fine or not.but if your speakers are still under warrenty you should make work it and don t open your speakers because it can broke the warrenty.
  10. if you buy some RF-X speakers it might be more expansive but you ll get a better sound quality. floorstanding speakers reproduces quiet well deep frequencies so you needn t a sub right now.(for example when i listen to music with my SF1 i don t have to turn the sub on,i use it only for movies) if i were you i will go for real floor standing speakers for mains(for a good music quality) and wait for money in order to complete my system with first a center than some surrounds and eventually a sub. i think it s better to wait in order to have a good system than having right now a medium system and selling it some weeks later. it s my opinion, but of course it only depends on you (and may the size of you bank acount). anyway if you buy klipsch speakers it will sound fine
  11. i had 2 promedia 2.1 in order to make a 4.2 system.it sounds great.then i bought a promedia 5.1 and i was disapointed: it sounds clearer but the outpout volume is less important. you win in quality but you loose a little of output volume...
  12. in fact your speakers is a kind of RP3 or RP5 speakers. you should check the manual of theses speakers to see what you could do with...
  13. it time to leave work it s late here in france. see you tomorrow!
  14. if you don t use the lfe pre out of your receiver you should set up your receiver as if you haven t a subwoofer.if you says to your receiver i ve a subi will give all the bass informations to the sub pre out and there is nothing plugged on so...no bass signal. and set your front speakers as large speakers if you don t do this you will have no bass at all. in a nutshell: -set your main speakers as large speakers -use the speakers input of your sub and connect it to the main speakers out of the receiver. -set your receiver in order to tell it you have no sub. -and eventually don t forget to set the crossover on your sub in order to make it match with your front speakers abilities... tell me if it works well please...
  15. you re right sorry for giving you bad news
  16. if your receiver as a sub pre out you can use it to connect your sub woofer,i think the crossover frequency you have set on the sub will act both on speakers inputs of the sub and the lfe in. the fact that the recever hasn t a crossover setup is not very bad: you can setup very sharply your crossover frequency with your sub. with my receiver only frequancies under 90Hz are given to the sub if we don t listen to a DTS or DD sound track. with your receiver you won t have a such problem. in fact your lucky!
  17. you can use only cable from receiver front speaker jacks to sub terminals... you can set up the crossover frequancy on the sub.
  18. you can check how to wire your speakers on the RP3/RP5 manual avaible on klipsch website. theses speakers have the same properties as yours(one input for sub,and two for the other loudspeakers)...
  19. the best is to have tweeter of both main and center at the same height and the center must not be closer to you than the mains.
  20. you can have 200w if you want even if in my opinion you won t have to use all this power because of the high sensitivity of klipsch speakers. with about 98db for a RF3,if you power it with 200W it will blow your head!!
  21. rf7 are good speakers for hi-fi stereo system(that s what people says, you can check on this forum and on magazines). so if they re good for stereo it means that they can cover all spectrums even mid range. if they are good enought for music it must be good enought for HT. the big speaker may suffer a little but it will succed...
  22. if you have a small room i think you don t need a 7.1 system. if i were you i would go for a good 5.1 or 5.0 system, and i will upgrade it, when i can use a larger room, with a pair of speakers and a sub.
  23. it could be the amp wich is too cold to. try with others speakers or an other amp and you ll sure of what happened...
  24. i think it s correct. but be sure that the impedance of the new speakers matches the old one.(i think it s 6 ohms)if not it could damage your sub(the amplifier channel where the new speakers are hooked on).
