  2. --- "so I'm in the homestretch"" -------------- And --- its ---- Secretariat down the stretch for the lead --------------------
  3. Are you planning on bringing a variety of 6sn7 to Hope? Or is it preferable we have specifics in mind?
  4. Del Taco magic it is! Open and shut case ----
  5. Standing up to us food bullies, good on you! Some funny stuff here - "Del Taco is magic"; "Northern Mexico". Great stuff. Now El Gall Giro sounds like a place quality Mexican grub can be found.
  6. ^^^^^ I'm a stickler for quiet too, extremely quiet. Which is why I mentioned Dennis Had in that you own his amp already. My Inspire is probably the quietest piece of tube gear I've owned, Class D silent even through these Big 402's. I spoke with Don Sachs about his KT88 amps but went another direction but he has great recommendation from Jim McShane who I have bought numerous tubes and is known as one of the pre-eminent HK Citation amps experts. It would be nice if Don offered a demo model to try or offer a trial period? I don't think he does as he builds on order. Good Hunting
  7. ^^^^^ You should be - listening to one right now. And sitting beside are Mr. Wrights 2a3 monoblocks.
  8. Could it just be the different sonics between a 2-way CF3 with a much bigger horn and a 3-way CW with a smaller horn. Not to muddle the discussion but when I owned LS and CW at the same time and rotated speakers in/out the CW sounded lifeless, recessed, much darker. I know comparing CF3 to full horn loaded LS is a stretch but maybe the CW just isn't able to keep up the top sparkle and dynamics you get from the CF. After time with both Belle and LS the CW just wasn't continuing in my future. For me there is That much difference.
  9. ^^^^^ I always knew NOS knew something about valves!!?? I've owned a couple of Mapletrees from the good Doctor. He's a big fan of 12sn7 vs. the more common 6 series. Fine sounding, neutral, simple design, reasonably priced. Made by our friends to the North. Good call.
  10. ^^^^^ A true statement that. Just because one frequents Del Taco has nothing to do with eating or liking Mexican food.
  11. How's about we include testosterone under the "everything" umbrella? Fair enough ---
  12. ^^^^^ I Love winning lifetime supplies of Everything ----

  14. Do the math - over the time you own the boat think how much fuel, maintenance, insurance, maintenance, taxes, maintenance, storage, maintenance, and frustration over maintenance you will spend. Buy the speakers.
  15. When I did finally retire two years ago and after being back with the company for four years I've recently heard "through the grapevine" that another return has been mentioned. At this point I doubt that is happening, I've become too set in my ways and either answering to someone again and/or traveling might be more than I could take, travel in particular. And besides 30 years with a company is/was enough. It would take way more $$$ to go back and I know that ain't happening. But then again - my wife is retiring in June and will be around my normally empty, do as I please house - maybe it wouldn't take That much money to get me back!!! Our little secret guys, right!!!??
  16. More important than any job is being there for family, your health and mental well being. No doubt money makes the world go 'round but without all the above has little meaning. You say funds are available for a short hiatus and if you have skills for today's market then take a break and refresh. Hit it hard after a few months in another environment where things have a different look. I had a different situation a few years ago when under new management and slow business the writing was on the wall, so I left. A year and a half later the new president asked why no one was in my previous position - one thing led to another and a month later I was back in a more prestigious position, more $$$ and a new outlook from all parties. Best luck
