  1. "The Fig" on the skins. That dude can play with the best of 'em.
  2. Thank you Zim, my personal Klipsch white glove delivery service! Lets see - Quartets, LaScalla, RB75. Before I haul the Quartets to Hope I actually have them playing as I type. Not too shabby but not sure as refined as the 75's. That damn two-way with a true compression driver is mighty articulate and smooth. Gonna switch out again soon but if my sonic memory is true the RB's are more refined, image better and tickle my fancy a bit more. Love having my fancy tickled!
  3. Pics you have - Been listening off/on since Friday and I've got say I am enamoured with the 75's. Even with the Big Khorns looming in the background these RB75's have really taken hold. They sound wonderful with the EL84's. Thanks to my friend for parting with them - Thanks Z.
  4. didn’t we work so long so we can now pay people to wash and wax our vehicles? The wife's van gets that. I do my own but it's infrequent. Last time I had a place change my oil they cleaned the headlight lens with brake cleaner (DUMBAZZ); short fight with owner they bought new headlights. Enough money or not this is the exact reason I change oil, wash and wax our cars. People don't give a shitt, use incorrect products for the job, cross thread drain plugs, etc. I know I'm going to do it right and do it well.
  5. Oh, he's in Seattle, I missed that. The wacky may have got the best of him. Lucky bastard --
  6. PWK signed mine - by how fantastic they sound. That's guys delusional.
  7. Just acquired a pair RB75 from another Klipsch head friend of mine, black ash, great condition. Being conditioned to the sound of Fastlane KHorns I'm thoroughly pleased and impressed with the 75's. These things flat get with it. Running with 5-6 watts of single ended EL84 proved they are by no means a toy. They fill the same rather large space quite well. Really enjoying these 75's and in no hurry to set them aside.
  8. Giving serious consideration of bringing a nice pair, 7/10, Oak Quartets to the gathering in Hope next week. If anyone has a been thinking about acquiring Quartets but shipping doesn't allow maybe this can work for both of us. If no one responds with any serious intentions I won't make the effort of hauling them with me. $475/pair Thanks Rich
  9. Currently running 6L6 big bottles in the G6 and 6J5g in the Linestage the twins3 (Medium).jpgMatt ♪ ♫ ♪ edit: the T12 blocks will have KT88 Gold Lion output tubes What EL86s and EZ81 are you using? Gotta say I'm dying to see these Transcendence Monos. I've never seen a single ended KT88 amp before. Not plugging my sale but check garage sale for Dennis Had KT88 Single Ended amp. Really not that unusual to run a KT88 SE but it does produce more power than traditional SE tubes like the 300b, 2a3, 45 etc.
  10. I have snorted Tabasco sauce.Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk I have exhausted Tabasco sauce -
  11. As most know Dennis Had, the founder of Cary Audio began making amps in his retirement years under the Inspire name. I have a mint perfect KT88/66 single ended with volume pot for $800. I will include both tube sets and correct rectifier for each. That is 2x Gold Lion KT88, 2x Gold Lion KT66, 1x Mullard 5ar4 and 1x Chinese 5u4G; 1x Tungsol 6sl7 drives both tubes sets. Self bias, 8-10 watts with the 88's, 5-6 watts on the 66's. Great sounding little amp. May bring to Hope next week depending on mode of transportaion. $875 plus shipping. Thanks Rich
  12. No sir, not me. But i do admire his wardrobe! Just thought to liven up A1 posts I'd throw a bit of snake oil audio philosophy into the mix. I can honestly say that my new Wright 2a3 gear equipped with old school captive power cords like the vintage Mc gear sound mighty fine. Seems the blue fire is getting where it needs to be.
  13. With all the astute audiophiles in the forum and those with this thread I'm surprised no one has found or commented as to why the Palladiums aren't imaging as expected. Am I the only one to notice A1UC has all cables lying directly on the carpeted floor? Directly on the floor I tell you! And to think the vast amount of gear that has been bought/sold looking for nirvana that will Never be accomplished with such a haphazard set up. Bridge those cables, rise above the static laden carpet, span the heights of suspended cables, either fly over or tunnel under but get those damn things off the floor! Problem solved, audio bliss. You've reached the end of the rainbow !
  14. How is it each time I see the fellas' I hear banjos playin' and gulp, pigs a squelin'!
  15. The common thinking is advertising = positive review. Maybe someone in the print media can offer something on this. Some audio sites have no advertisements so are they any different? I have heard from persons i know in the auto industry when you see "best in class for five years running" from firms such as JD Powers those have been bought and paid for.

    What I Got Today!

Completed piecing together my George Wright 2a3 monoblocs with his 12a tube preamp. All acquired from the same enthusiast with many pieces of George's gear. His speaker of choice with the Wrights is Tannoy. For too long I had my doubts that the 2a3 could satisfy or push my Khorns to satisfying levels, I was mistaken by a long shot. Some time ago our friend Paul79 eluded to the superior sonics of tubes, to which I concurred. Multiply those sentiments several fold with this Wright 2a3 single ended gear. Superb. A tip of my hat to the late George Wright.
  17. Well Oldtimer after our martini discussion you may be on to something?!
  18. Yes, sorry to hear that. Always a letdown, let alone a PITA to correct the situation. I pack my sale items for worst case drops and have numerous feedback stating as much. As far as FedEx packing I recently received relatively small monoblocks pack in one huge box wrapped in more bubble wrap than I've ever seen. Built up empty boxes were used for spacers. FedEx did a great job in this instance. Good luck --
  19. Point taken. While its just me and the wife the neighbors are rather homely and after another round of martini's with me roaming the neighborhood, I think I'll pass thank you. Once was probably too much.
  20. Heavens no - even tore up I have my limits! But then again I had to be reminded what took place. Shitt - now you've got me wondering. Excuse me I need a hit of Listerine!
  21. My last big martini night was at a company anniversary dinner and the booze was a flowin'. Unusual for me but I was drinking martini's and I believe using the olives as my appetizer. I was unaware but my pals were helping me out by ordering me doubles. I knew I approaching meltdown when I was mouth kissing the VP/sales manager. Yeah, a guy. That party was hard to live down.
  22. I know that on my Wright 2a3 monoblocks at 3.5 watts and are equipped with 4, 8 and 16 taps, the KHorns had more body and bass response on the 4 ohms.

    What I Got Today!

Gawd Shu that movie scared the shitt out me when I was a kid. Movies on TV was big deal back then and that movie broke new ground for sci-fi in movies on home TV. Pretty corny by today's standards but scare as hell when I was 10 or so. Cool -
  24. I agree Breakdown, Paul's description of tubes was spot on. But it sounded to me he was describing single ended amps?!
